Hey guys, im going to perform soon at school maybe this or next month and i decided that I'm Alright By Neil Zaza would be a nice song to perform. So i decided to record it and see what you guys think about it. Its Jerry C's version. I messed up slightly in various areas of the song but i think i can cover those easily when playing live.

So, id like some feedback please smile.gif

Damn nice cover there man. How long did it took you to learn this song?

As for criticism, put up a little more gain and don't be afraid of dirtying up your sound a little. It sounds way too clean which is good for perfection but even Zaza never played it clean. But you know, its up to you man. I'm sure the crowd wouldn't notice your mistakes since I barely notice it myself and I've listened to the song very religiously.

Oh yea, if you have some delay pedal or maybe reverb then put on a dash of it.

Thanks man. It took very few days to learn the song, aprox. 4 or 5. But to polish it, it took alot of time and i always do everytime i can. Im not sure if i understand what you mean about way too clean, you mean not enough distortion? or too good tongue.gif I have my gain at 8, i guess itll turn it to 10, i just thought that too much gain would make it sound crap but ill give it a try.

Also yes im using slight delay to make it sound better (imo). But i dont get what you mean by this:

then put on a dash of it.

thanks for listening mate! smile.gif

I mean just put on a little bit of it just so spicen up the sound. A dash is like a little bit. Its used a lot in cooking.

I thought that it was clean to a point where I figured your holding back on your gain. You played it very good so I couldn't argue on that. Maybe its just the recording I don't know but if it sounds good to you then I have no problem with it. It would probably sound better live anyway.

Good Luck when you perform it. Make Zaza proud.

Sounds very good! I agree with what Vince says. I haven't heard the song myself but may I suggest adding a bit more vibrato on some of the longer sustained notes? They're fairly few in number but they sound just slightly flat (I don't mean that as pitch) but its still great anyway smile.gif Good job.

Good cover man! smile.gif

If you do do more distortion, don't do much more, but add some vibrato to the sustained notes.

thanks guys, and yes, i normally add ALOT more vibrato to long duration notes, but i hadnt warmed up that much and my hands were still very cold, i hate when they're like that.

Im taking all the suggestions so i can make my performance superb!! thanks again! smile.gif

Well done, you'r playing has really improved over the months!

My only note on this is that the G string sounds a bit offtune, other than that very well done smile.gif

Oh and I thought you were going to play my song in that show, but this is a better choice I think biggrin.gif

Im planning on playing your song for valentines, it would be the perfect ocassion. Ill talk to her about it biggrin.gif. Also, ill show you the song when the vocals are recorded! wink.gif

Hey man, just listened to your cover. I played that song and recorded it a couple of years ago... Or a year tongue.gif ... The thing is that the most important aspect in playing this song is to have lots of fun with it... Add vibrato (tons of it, I'd suggest), bends when you feel like it, and definitely more gain to your tone biggrin.gif

You missed some parts of the song, but I guess that was just nervousness of recording or minor details you can easily fix smile.gif

Btw, another suggestion I can make you is to try to improvise a bit ohmy.gif I'm sure that will help you feel more confident and your presentations is going to be better cool.gif

Wish you the best, great song decision wink.gif

Yeah i get nervous when recording sad.gif , there was a part which i decided to make full improvisation, but just when i practiced, so i wasnt sure if actually improvising when playing live so i decided to recover with the exacto song hehe, the part im talking about is where you play some chords and you arpeggiate in one of them letting the strings ring, im not sure if you get what i mean tongue.gif .

Anyways, thanks for listening and thanks for the suggestions, ill keep them in mind. smile.gif
