Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Hot Country Solo by Chris Shofner

Hey guys!

I am both extremely excited to finally be able to hit that "POST YOUR TAKE" button myself, and also really nervous 😱

After almost 4 months of practicing this one, I feel I need to move on - as I have other musical challenges I am itching for.

Here is my practice thread.

Very impressive work. I think I could have worked on this forever and never gotten it this good. Your existing finger picking ability really served you well here and adapted very well to this style of play. It's honestly almost alien in terms of style and technique and tone. You adapted quite well to this style of play and I look forward to seeing it work it's way in to your solos as we move forward. Now that you have practiced this style so much, I'm sure it's become part of your overall style and will be very interesting to hear how you integrate it. Congrats!

Hey Kris!
Welcome to ReC section biggrin.gif

You could surprise us with some bad playing at least once smile.gif

I'm always impressed with some advanced country soloing. This lesson rocks smile.gif

Now just for the sake of honesty...we both now you are still not comfortable with the lesson so you are not as tight with the timing as we know you are able to be. I'm also missing just a slick of slap in some more notes than the beginning.

Other than that it's a great work and amazing stuff to work with smile.gif
