BETA TESTERS REQUIRED

Ever wanted to take part in a beta test programme?
Want some free software?
This is your chance.

As part of our ongoing commitment to deliver great products Solid State Logic is about to conduct a ‘Public Beta Test’ for the new ‘Duende Native V5’ plug-in collection. We need 300 testers to try out our VST/Audio Units/RTAS plug-ins for 2 weeks and then fill out a short questionnaire giving us some
feedback on how it went.

WHAT YOU WOULD NEED TO DO
If you are selected to participate in the programme here is what would happen; we would send you a web site address and some log in details, you would log in, download some software, install it, activate a demo license for it… and use it for a couple of weeks. We would give you log in details for a forum where you can give us feedback as you go along if you want to. When the test phase is over you would need to complete a 10 min ‘Exit Survey’ questionnaire giving us some simple information about your experiences. The software will be a fully functional ‘release candidate’ which has already been tested by a smaller group of professional beta testers… it is essentially ready to be launched… so should work for you without problems and should present no threat to your system. The point of a Public Beta Test is to ensure that software which we know works on a relatively small number of systems, works as it should on a much larger selection of host computers and combinations of host software.

WHAT YOU WOULD GET IN RETURN
All participants who complete the test will receive one free Duende Native plug-in. When participants complete the ‘Exit Survey’ they will be invited to select which of the Duende Native Plug-ins they would like to receive. Free plug-in licences will be delivered to participants after the product has been publicly launched.

WHAT YOU WOULD NEED
We will select 300 participants based on their combination of host computer and host DAW software environment to ensure that we get a good cross section of test systems. To participate therefore you would need a Mac or PC computer and at least one host application which can run VST/Audio Units/RTAS plug-ins. You will need some time to try out our plug-ins. Duende Native Plug-ins run natively using your host computer… they do not require a Duende hardware unit. We encourage existing Duende Hardware and Duende Native owners to participate but owning a Duende plug-in of any type is not a requirement!

HOW TO APPLY…
Hit the Apply Now button and fill out the questionnaire.
We will inform all applicants whether or not they have been selected to participate.

THE APPLICATION FORM WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL 9AM GMT ON SUNDAY 23RD MARCH 2014 :: APPLY NOW at http://dmtrk.net/7YS-29XPG-19GLC1-YZPC1-0/c.aspx

Was one of the testers for the previous plug-in's. Everything went well until an update arrived and I saw the blue screen biggrin.gif had to install windows again so whoever joins make backups before loading anything wink.gif

For a free SSL plugin, sure!! smile.gif I was a big fan of the "native" ssl plugins once they finally gave up on their pricey "hardware accelerator" which was essentially a large dongle smile.gif

The only folks that seem to do hardware acceleration well right now for plugins is Universal Audio with the Apollo hardware. I've used that bit of kit and the quality of the plugins was just astounding. But it's not cheap!!! The SSL plugins work fine just as software. I honestly think the UA plugins could work fine now without their hardware as well with the right system now that quad processor rigs are quite common and 8 proc rigs are getting more common all the time. You can buy a mac with 12 processors and 64 gb of ram so I think the hardware is just to generate profit for UA and for companies like AXE FX. The axe fx hardware is actually the same stuff that the apollo runs on. Small world eh? A beefy rig could handle it as a plugin just fine smile.gif But that's another thread!
