Hi Kristofer i want to thank you for a great site and also your instructions dvd's that i have bought.
But i have one problem when it comes to solo's, that i cant get up speed with my fingers and i dont now how to place them on the frets to get a good "speed".

So i wonder if you can put together an video where you show how you put your fingers to the frets and special tecniques to overcome thoose hints, the thing im talking about is this finger pattern

E-19p17p15-----19p17p15-----19p17p15------19p17p15----------|
B----------15-----------15------------15------------15------|
G-----------------------------------------------------------|
D-----------------------------------------------------------|
A-----------------------------------------------------------|
E-----------------------------------------------------------|

E-19p17--------19p17--------19p17---------19p17p15----------|
B----------15-----------15------------15--------------------|
G-----------------------------------------------------------|
D-----------------------------------------------------------|
A-----------------------------------------------------------|
E-----------------------------------------------------------|

this is from metallica One solo, and also alot of other solos contains this kind of pattern.
I also think that zakk wylde uses this pattern pretty much, i have seen it in videos from this site.

So could you please make a video where you show how to hold your fingers to play stuff like this and also hints and tricks. there are many more patterns out there but you can get the sense of what im talking about right?

Hello Pierre,

The are lots of videos showing how to play legato and more specifically three-note-per string legato, here at GMC!

However in your case - since you have some very specific requests - the absolute most efficient practicing for you would be for you to take these patterns and turn them into exercises. In other words practcing them evenly to a metronome. If you tsart so slowly so that you clearly can hear every note - you will get the feel for how your fingers should behave!

The first tab could be played as sixteenth notes and the second one as triplets. For more information about this - please check this video:

I hope it helps! smile.gif
