GMC Forum _ Uploads _ Progress Take 1

Posted by: opeth.db Oct 4 2008, 03:10 AM

So this is the first thing that I have produced since I have been here.
I have been working with Ivan on his Penta Worksop series. This the Level 5 instruction lead.
Its not exact to it but its close smile.gif

Its iffy at spots. Especially at the 16 sec mark and the end. I don't have it quite right yet but hey I think Im making progress.

My fingers never have worked this way. And the end riff its a different expierence all together playing on those smaller frets huh.gif

Anyways, any help or critiques are appreciated. I still can't beleive Im playing a lead at this speed. Not as clean as I like it to be but getting there.

Thanks
Dan

That was really good for your first post.

It feels good to play (or shred) and everything fits and it sounds good when you play it back, doesn't it?

My only suggestion would be to tweak the tone some.

It sounded really good but a little thin. Back off the gain some because you don't need all that when you record and watch how much Chorus and Compression you are using. Did you record direct or with a mic?

Great job man!

Thanks Skillet!

I got this new fancy Boss GT10 Im still learning. Ill go ahead and still tweak my tone.
I recorded direct throguh my mixer to my PC.

Again, Thanks!

Great job Dan! I agree with skillet with respects of the tone sounding a bit thin. I have this same problem. when I find a preset that I think sounds really good, then record with it, it never sounds the same. I wish my DAW had ears sometimes. laugh.gif
