I've been needing drum software for a long time.
I think I decided on EZdrummer, and maybe some expansions. http://www.amazon.com/Toontrack-EZdrummer-...r/dp/B000KY156E Do anyone know and reccomend Drumkit from hell and MetalheadsEZX? Do I need anything extra to use the programs fully, like Reaper or something I have to buy? I read that installing and registration is difficult, but that is just something you do only once off course. This post has been edited by Ulrik: Feb 25 2012, 02:02 AM -------------------- |

I have to agree with the idea that yes you really need at least DFH. It's a must have expansion pack if you wanna play heavy music. Also, the MIDI packs containing wads of extra metal drum bits are worth a look. Thy are only about 30 bux each.
Also, have a look at BFD ECO it was about 30 bux last time I checked and is actually far more feature rich than EZ drummer out of the box. I dig EZ drummer and have DFH and several midi packs. All said and done it's easily a couple hundred bux even on sale. But for 30, BFD eco sounds amazing all by itself. It's a bit more complex but it's got more to it as well. You don't have to add wads of extra plugins in your DAW just to make the drums sound decent. With EZdrummer, I usually have to add several plugins to punch up the drum sound.
