To be honest I used to like Mattrach. But now I cant stand him.
He plays all of steve vais licks and just switchs them around to try to make it his own.

His only great piece of music , I think is this , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhJSv8zYzPE

Very Jazzy, Very His own -

but thats just imo smile.gif

+1 tongue.gif

Not even Gustav Guerro nailed it - its a really hard piece to play ...

I posted exact same sentence (well, i didn't use word "butchered") in our previous topic about this guy biggrin.gif

Posted by: shredmandan Aug 7 2007, 01:19 AM

Yes
I stated in previous post that he has some talent (nothing to look up to) but can play. His cannon rock thing though is so irritating .Personally i dont care for him as there is nothing he does that i couldnt and nothing for me to benifit from him.

LOL your most probably right mr Pavel. he is bloomin funny to watch though, he looks like hes haveing alot of fun haha! smile.gif

Posted by: Mark Schiewe Aug 7 2007, 07:46 PM

Hey there's nothing wrong with showing your having fun while playing. Gustavo Guerra is probably the biggest example of this.

Posted by: Pavel Aug 7 2007, 07:49 PM

Considering the number of Matts videos, both covers and his own songs it seems like he lives for YouTube! Almost same thing goes for Gustavo! smile.gif But Gustavo plays much better - with much more understanding in what he is doing and he sounds like a pretty experienced player!

Posted by: Mark Schiewe Aug 7 2007, 07:54 PM

Yes your right Pavel. As great a player Matt can become, he will probably always just be a bedroom shredder. And thats pretty sad. Gustavo however IS a professional. He does many clinics and has jammed with Paul GIlbert before!

Posted by: ezravdb Aug 7 2007, 08:01 PM

He won a guitar contest so I think people will remember him in France.
And maybe he's gigging for life and buys all his guitars from that and now and then he records a video haha biggrin.gif

what im trying to say:

you never know what he does besides youtube

Yeah, Ezra is right.

you can´t judge him from what you see on youtube.

i agree with that one!
BTW. he is just, how old? 16? in 10 years he might be touring with a world known band, or he might be a big name in the Shred scene. You never know

Posted by: Mark Schiewe Aug 7 2007, 10:13 PM

He's now 17

He says on youtube and Myspace that he is 16 ? smile.gif

Posted by: Pavel Aug 7 2007, 10:42 PM

I somewhere read that he started playing at age of 7! So he's already playing for 10 years!

Posted by: shredmandan Aug 7 2007, 11:12 PM

Man
It seems like this is the only thing people want to post on.If im going to look uo to somebody it definatly isnt going to be him. There way to much talent out there to be obsessed about this kid.

Posted by: The Uncreator Aug 7 2007, 11:40 PM

I dont think it matters who you look up to, as long as they inspire you to do better.

Posted by: Mark Schiewe Aug 8 2007, 12:01 AM

Yes that's a very good point Uncreator. The kid doesnt inspire me in any way though.

Posted by: The Uncreator Aug 8 2007, 12:12 AM

Me neither, i thought i just should point that out smile.gif

Exactly! Because of this (the inspirational element) i didn't listen to Vai for like a year now! He just stopped inspiring me! Same goes for Michael Angelo! I never lack inspiration for practicing technique, but music - the only people who really inspire me to create MUSIC are Rhapsody and Luca Turilli!

Now when we came to Rhapsody - guys, get yourself "Visions From The Enchanted Lands" double DVD. It's their first DVD released in July. It's AMAZING! Interview, making of..., shooting music videos, live equipment, live performances, rehearsals...bunch of stuff put together in a totally new way!

Dude i'm a huge Dave Mustaine fan biggrin.gif I actually just watched a interview with Dave and Lars talking about have Dave had been done wrong by Metallica.James wouldnt show up to talk to him.I looked all over to try and find anything that James may have said public about Dave and i cant find anything.I think its really sad how Dave got done even though he had his problems. To be honest i have been a Metallica fan forever but i almost think i can say that Dave makes better Rtyhem riffs than James ohmy.gif .Thats hard for me to say because i feel like im betraying my band that got me where i am today but latley i just enjoy Daves riffs more.Definatly ever lead guitarist that has been in Megadeth has been a better soloist than Kirk.I definatly have no problem saying that biggrin.gif You can check a video out on youtube by typing Dave and LARS interview.I remember we had a little disagreement awhile back on Metallica. laugh.gif I dont hold anything against you hope you feel the same about me tongue.gif

Yeah i saw it like 25 times already! No words to describe it!! Awesome band, awesome recordings, ideas, they are all funny guys, masters of their instruments. Did you notice that Turilli only has a Line6 head and not even a footswitch on stage? He just plugs his guitar in and has all he needs - a distortion! But damn - he can play! And i love his sound! Well - you already know i'm in love with him hahahaha!!

Posted by: The Uncreator Aug 8 2007, 03:23 PM

WOW!

I never noticed he didnt even have a footswitch! Ive only watched it like 3 or 4 times, i probably still havent caught everything smile.gif

Posted by: Pavel Aug 8 2007, 03:31 PM

Watch the Holy Thunderforce (last song in DVD 1)! There is a camera angle that shows the piece of stage where he is standing next to Alex and it shows the floor of the stage! NOTHING in front of him! smile.gif

Posted by: The Uncreator Aug 8 2007, 03:32 PM

Alright im gonna pop it in now.

Posted by: Pavel Aug 8 2007, 03:45 PM

I found a better view on Wisdom Of The Kings. There is something but i wouldn't say it's a Line6 Footswitch! Well maybe he still has one! But anyway - i can't stop listening to this concert!

Posted by: The Uncreator Aug 8 2007, 03:57 PM

Yeah i saw what you were talking about, all though now i cant stop watching it again smile.gif

I have it blaring on the TV Behind me.
