I think is great because if you're not thinking about the key (the group of notes that conforms a scale) you're thinking about what you want to hear and you're preocupied about the sound itself. So, it's a good job what you've done because it requires a lot of attention.

Keep the good work!

That was kewl Cael!

It shows you have been really thinking about how you sound rather then how crazy you can get.

Honestly i didnt really hear any "Wrong" notes there were some weird timing issues and things, and sure sometimes you hung out on a note that is not dominant, but it created this really kewl tension.

The trick is how to use those "Out of scale" notes properly to add the tension you want without sounding "out".

It seems your on the right track with that, developing your own style on guitar is an ongoing experiment with what YOU can do to step outside the norm, and still retain a musical quality, it sounds like you are on the verge of a huge break thru in your quest for your own style.

Just keep at it!

Daniel

I will just write what I would improve - all ellse is great wink.gif and much has been already said by Daniel and others

A few more 3nps licks in different modes - if you shift that lick a few frets here and there, the mode will change as well. You wont get lost EVER and yet it will all sound like prepared smile.gif just take the basic A major lick
e -------------------------------12-14-15--
B ---------------------12-14-15------------
G ----------11-12-14-----------------------
D 11-12-14---------------------------------

and playing that in key of E minor, it sounds dorian, due to its C# (#6). You dont even have to think about these thinks. I just found out, that playing licks from different keys can sound cool and unexpected smile.gif

Another point could be some 7th sweeps shapes - they look basicly the same as normal 5 string shapes, they just start from different note, addded to the arpeggio - just check them out, they are really easy. Basically IMHO sweeps in improvisations/jams are luxury, because (especially the more complicated ones) requre precise technique and good ear/theory knowdledge to be played on spot. But its worth it smile.gif

Last thing are taps - their strenght is in repetitivnes of one or two notes (pivot), and even those changing notes (those that you move) are played for much longer then in picking runs. This has two advantages:
1) sweep very often sound highly complicated (esp. two handed one - which look harder then they are:) ) and generaly sound cool and skilled
2) You can easily improvise with them as long as you want, changing a tone here and there can completely change the mood (you have to noodle around to get the feel for tapping position shifting tho..) and most importantly - you can just tap for a few bars and in the meantime plan your next moves:) Time is IMO essential in impros and taps give you time to think:)
