Hello GMC
Im think im gonna start with some theory again with my IRL teatcher.
Its only an hour a week, so GMC is great to combine with that
Anyway, I played classical guitar when I was 9-14, learned every name of the note up to maybe the 12th fret, chords, scales, had exams, and the song "leyenda" as my final exam. I was senesitive as a child, my theatcher slapped me with a with a cut water hose if I hadnt practiced, also holding a swizz army knife at my right hand so I wouldnt move it when playing (not joking)
So I quit
Then I fixed my fathers old guitar 4 years ago and started playing some rock riffs learnt online.
I also discovered GMC and all cool stuff you could do on the guitar.
So I have forgotten so much of the theory.
But I think I can relearn it quick.
So I have a learning plan, very basic to start with.
*Learn every major and minor chord in the first position of the guitar
*The name of every note in the first position, I can guess my way quick to it, but learning it so you know it right away.
*The notes in every major and minor scale first position
What do you think of this?
Get to know this, this week and move on to more theory next week.
Good plan mate I would suggest singing the names of each note with your voice when you play it with the guitar, in that way you will internalize not only the position but the sound as well! Try this idea and let me know how it works out
I also read some notes. I dont know what you say about that, important or not?
I think that's a great way to get started with theory,
You'll see the fruits of this not so far ahead in the future when you pick up the guitar and start to see the notes everywhere like "Neo in the matrix"
but seriously it's great!
