Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate,

Congrats on your first video here! It looks and sounds good. smile.gif

About your playing, I notice that the problem here is hands sync. Your hands are not going in sync and that's why your fast alternate picking licks doesn't sound tight and clear. You need to slow down and practice at a tempo that you can keep both hand going together and increase speed gradually when you feel more comfortable.

Practicing at this tempo with hands out of sync is not a good idea because your hands will get used to it. Please slow down. smile.gif

Well done! Your bootcamp work does not go for waste wink.gif There are in fact some sync issues and I might support Gabriel's tip on practicing at slower tempo BUT...I would not go too much dwon with the tempo. At the leve you are now, practicing too slow will give you nothing. You need to find a spot somewhere near the original speed of lesson - it has to be a very first tempo you find that starts to make some trouble with hands sync.

As for Video program - it's quite nothing special to sync audio and video unless there are some problems with audio rate in the video or in the audio from DAW. It's rare but it happens that audio has some drops that strethc the file and make it actually out of sync. Make sure sampling rate is the same in both - video's audio and DAW recorded audio. For example you might have some problems if one has 44.100 and other 48.000 Hz when you put both to one edit session without conversion. That's the most negative of all possible causes for this issue. Othwerwise you only need to drag and drop audio file on the proper zoom in to fit it with audio prerecorded with the video. There is actually no particular trickfor sync'ing files in Vegas. Always watch the audio visual image - do not trust sync'ing only the beginning lines of video and audio.

I can see that your bootcamp work is doing good things for your picking! smile.gif Keep that up. I have to agree with the guys on your hand synch. You may be trying to push it just a bit too far too fast. Back off just a bit. Also, let the backing track be your guide for tempo. Unless you are doing "Free Jazz' you should try to lock yourself to the beat. You can play "around" the beat at some points, but try to stay very close to the beat for your picking. Good work here to be sure! But I would try one more.

Todd
