You replace you old pins with the new ones and attach the clips to your strap - done!

I prefer Schaller Straplocks on all my guitars

On the topic of straplocks , anyone had any problems with them??

I once bought Marvel strap locks ( http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/images/large/MVSL-B.jpg ) for one of my basses and they worked for a day or two and then I noticed that that the screw that is holding the "strap" part together is getting unscrewed over time (few days is enough). So they were absolutely useless!

Next on a Fender Jazz Bass I got , there were Schaller Straplocks installed but they actually had the same problem, big ring screw that was on the strap side was getting unwind-ed over short amount of time. To top it all , Fender used small screw for the pin that goes into the guitar body so that part got loose too smile.gif

For both basses I used different straps so its not one that is causing all the problems. Also I tightened everything as far as it would go so its not improper install causing problems.Later on I changed them all for Dunlop Straplocks and never had any similar problems ever again...

Quite strange to go through so much trouble with straplocks on bass...Maybe its vibrations that are unwinding the screws ?
Anyone had similar problems ?

Jim Dunlop straplocks is what I recommend, never had any problems with them.

My excuse to go into the store are the strings, so I change a lot of strings laugh.gif
