Hi all,

So, I am starting with the beginner lesson. I have been playing occasionally for the last 15 / 16 years but never got a chance to take official lessons. It just came as a hobby. Anyway, I am hoping to learn more here now that I have joined. smile.gif

I will look forward to your feedbacks!!

Thanks all.

Nice take! smile.gif

A couple of comments which come to mind:

The sound was a bit harsh to me, I would prefer a bit warmer tone with this lesson. Some bends were slightly sharp as far as I could judge and your vibrato can be improved as it is currently quite shaky, instead of smooth and stable (do it more from the whrist).

Thanks Velvet. I also noticed that after recording. I really need to work on the vibrato/bends. I will try another take tomorrow.

I am still searching for 'the tone haven'. smile.gif Though my history is long, I have been playing electric guitars only for last 4-5 years and gears only 2-3 years. I owned an electric guitar in 2004 with no amps. I was poor.. :| I am still trying to get a decent tube amp. We can't get it here. sad.gif

BTW, I like your signature saying. nice one!

Very nicely played!
I'll agree with Roger tho about sound, last bend which was too sharp
and vibrato in general, it might be more smooth and not so shaky,
all in all you played it very good imo, keep working! smile.gif

Thank you Muris. I looked at this other thread about vibrato and will work on it. Apart from that, is there a video on it or do you have any recommendation on how to improve the vibrato? I can't seem to do it. Whats the trick?

Much better take, much better!!

Still that bend at 0:53 seems to be too sharp
and that happens very often when we shift position a lot
and play semi tone bend on top strings, just pay more attention on that
and try not to over bend it.

And vibrato you're getting is much smoother compared to first take but
you can work on it further.
Here's one hint tho.
As you can notice, "regular" vibrato (the one you use as well)
is actually made of bends and releases, either upwards or downward, kind of.
Vibrato will sound nervous if you play more smaller bends, faster ones.
Instead of that try wider bends but just a few of them, 2 or 3,
even one wider bend in vibrato will gives better result,
just try not to play fast vibrato all the time
cause it sound pretty nervous,
sometimes we want it to sound that way
but it should be done fully on purpose. smile.gif

ah.. I m lucky!.. don't know what happened but I again tried my luck. It turned on again. Probably the adapter is going down or something.. Hoping for my best. I will get start with other lessons and gradually improve my vibrato.

Im practicing the vibrato only on each string but I don't get that smooth vibrato sound even if I bend so much more. Is that because I have too much distortion or my strings are too old or too low? I hear it on my guitar but as soon as I plugin the distortion/amp, it sounds flat. I will keep practicing..

There could be many reasons while it still doesn't sound smooth,
wrong execution of vibrato or even bad type of distortion/old strings...
Keep practicing, it'll come up after a while, don't worry. smile.gif

sure will do. not trying to blame the guitar when I can't do it properly.. haha. smile.gif

Anyway, I think I will move on to Jumping Around beginner lesson and it is more simple and has lot of vibratos. Is there a backup music for that?

BTW, just wanted to know how you record addictive drums? Do you use any of that Keyboard or drum machines or do you edit the midi notes directly? That software really has nice drum sounds.

Also, I am sorry but I will be asking many questions I guess. Please bear with me. Should I just create a personal thread and dump all my practice videos there rather than post individual topics? It would be great to look back after a year. smile.gif

And, what do we have to do to take that MTP class? (sorry if this has been asked but I did read the forum topic and I had to post a video and write up goals, etc. but do I qualify? I am ready to first finish as much lessons as possible if thats a pre requisite).

Thanks Muris.

I don't use keyboard for drums, that's too complicated for me,
I simply draw everything from scratch or edit some groove pattern from the library.

Here's backing for the lesson you ask. smile.gif

wow.. that was quick.. smile.gif

Thanks.

Do you mean you edit it on your Cubase (I think you use that). I just wanted to know as I couldn't find an midi editor on AD.

And I had edited a few more questions up that post. Sorry. smile.gif

There isn't Midi editor in AD at least not the one that I'm aware of it,
I edit it in midi channel editor in Cubase, yes. smile.gif

As for MTP, you should check out guides in MTP board,
there is a topic including everything you need to know about it.

And regarding your posts, takes, discussions etc,
you can open new thread and throw everything in there
or simple open new thread for each take that you record,
many GMCers do that cause very often you can get lots of feedbacks
for single post ( if it's not in instructor's board tho)
and it's might be hard to track all posts and replies in single thread.
Both ways work fine for me tho, it's up to you. smile.gif
