I was just goofing around and it made everything sound smoother.

Alt. Picking became easier and Sweeping became somewhat easier ?

Anyone ever tried playing with the Pick Upside Down and would you recommend it ?
Are there any Pros that do this ?

Thanks-John

Maybe new pick shape suits you better , you should try to find a pick with normal side similar to your one upside down if you can wink.gif

Well not completley upside down.

If you hold your pick with the point side facing down, and pick a curve from either the left or the right of the point, It doesnt sound muddy.

I don't know, that doesn't work here... Although I can play it like that, I don't really like the sound.

Im starting not to like it either, I switched over to Jazz III's now and when you play chords with the pick upside down it does sound nice smile.gif So I bet there are situations where you can use it.

Maybe for some gently brushing effects that you can't get with normal (spiked) side.

I guess the shape of the pick makes the difference for you. A pointy pick results in a more precise sound, but fast picking is a bit harder than with a more rounded pick. I suggest that you just experiment a bit with different picks (shapes and materials) because picks actually can have a big influence on your sound. I even thought about doing a small video lesson about picks and how the can influence your sound...

That would be a very interesting lesson Marcus. Picks are very important and a big factor on your playing.
