GMC Forum _ Recording _ How To Backup Cubase Files ?

Posted by: Ben Higgins Aug 19 2011, 09:57 AM

Hi Guys, I really hope you can help me..

I've been trying to backup Cubase files onto disc but haven't got it right so far. I read somthing about going into the 'pool' and getting it ready for 'archive' which I've done (I think). Then I selected the particular Cubase files (.cpr) and burnt them to disc. When I re-insert the dics and try to open these files up in Cubase again, I just get presented with 'missing files' dialog. Surely if I did the job correctly I wouldn't have to deal with having to find missing files...

I've searched on the 'net but nowhere can I find a really simple idiot's guide in simple step by step instructions what to do.. I wondered how you guys do it ?

sounds like your missing the audio files out of the project somehow, sometimes happens in reaper when I`ve moved stuff around and it no longer recognizes where they are.

found this if any help if you havnt found before of course, I think the last paragraph refers to what your talking about

What I do is just copy the whole project folders to DVDs.
