GMC Forum _ Theory (David) _ I Need Help

hey david I'm having trouble learning the major scale and the modes. Like when I was learning the pentatonic scale it was fun because I could do cool blues licks and stuff along with learning it but with the major scale its just boring. do you have any advice?

Hi man!
Yes, I know what you mean. Learning the 7 note scales can be boring sometimes.
I remember being most frustrated when it came to mixing the pentatonic licks I had learned with all the major sales.
To start off with I would try to find some backing tracks to expriment with the 7 string scales.
I am on vacation right now, but will post some when I get back next week.
Until then, keep memorizing them! :-)

I am too, trying to master the major scale and incorporate it into my pentatonic knowledge, would be interested in 'spicing' up my major/modes scale practicing!
