I'm serving in the Israeli army as some of you now, and I got just 11 months left now and I want to make this final year as stress free as possible! and one of the most stressing things I encounter is waking up in the morning(6 am), every morning is really a struggle to get myself out of bed, I think it's mostly related to the fact I'm waking up with an alarm clock but if I won't use it I just won't wake up in time..
So my question is if anyone who is in a similar situation has found a way to make waking up an easier task?

set the alarm for 5:30.. then set a second alarm at 6:00.. you'll get up to turn off the 5:30 alarm.. this is when you put on coffee.. back to bed.. 6am arrives.. and the coffee is done.. the morning becomes enjoyable ... or just go to bed earlier...
You probably don't have the luxury of having a stereo near where you are sleeping. But maybe this helps in other situations.
I use my stereo as an alarm clock and it will play a cd of my choice (no annoying sound). Then I just lie awake in bed for one song and get up after that.
generally i wake up dead, dunno about most other people but thats just me.
What helps me get up in the morning is if i sleep in multiples of 1.30 (one and a half) hours, such as if you have to be up at 6.00 Am, then go to bed at about 12.00, or 10.30 PM
similar waking up issues here for me too! I really should get to bed a little earlier tho, thats half my problem.
I use my mobile phone alarm as well has a 7 minute snooze on it, I should really be up by 7.30am but I set my alarm for 6.45am and hit snooze for 45 minutes I`ve usually come round enough by then to actually get myself out of bed.

Snoozing is terrible. At least for me, I need to be asleep or awake and anything in between only aggrevates things. It will only make it harder to get out of bed when it's really needed. If you're not getting enough sleep I guess the remedy would be to go to bed a little earlier if possible.
Well, if I wanna wake up early I make sure I go to bed early, like 8 hours minimum beofre I need to wake up. So if you wanna wake up in 6.00 without problems lay in bed by 10 o'clock. It is simple as that. Your day will be much healthier too.
I wake up and immediately listen to some kind of soft soothing song, and eat some good food, and take a nice warm shower, always gets me up right
I wake up and fall asleep again after 2 minutes, after some minutes I wake up again, try to keep awake, but that doesn't work that good
I just need some time to really get out of the bed, it's so nice and warm there
Especially if I dont have school, I wake up at 12:00 but when I get out of my bed it's 14:00-16:00.
If I have school I get out of bed, because I have to (well sometimes I dont get up evne if I have to )
I allready tried preety much everything you suggested.
More hours of sleep didn't help, and actually the ideal time to sleep is 7 hours, this is the time that is easiest for me to wake up, but even than it takes me a minumum of 10 minutes and lots of headaches and walking around like a zombie to wake up
Waking up 30 minutes before I need to.. tried that once, man it was depressing
In the winter it's too cold to get out of bed, and in the summer it's hot
I can't eat in the morning, it makes me nauchious..

Take like 1 mg of Melatonin half an hour before u go to bed.You'll sleep like a baby and wake up like a horse
Perhaps meditating before bed?

Got the same problem with coffee, but half a litre of tea helps me. I guess it doesn't help you... I'm out of suggestions
I usually set my phone to Calendar Alarm with custom messages, so when it starts ringing and I wake up, if you look at the outside of the phone it reads "Wake up, Neo". That somehow gets me out of bed

I know how you feel man, during my life I've gone through 2 periods of early mornings
The first was during a wilderness survival course in Northern Quebec. We had to wake up at 05:30 every morning. It was awe full. Getting out of the shelter and into the frosty morning was hell... the only reason I was able to do it was because I had a sergeant yelling at me the whole time.
The second time was when I worked for Electronic Arts. They expected us to be in at 07:00 which meant I had to get up at 04:30. I have never been so ready to give up at life... EVER. I would finish work at 22:00 and go right to bed (no guitar time!)
What I did was I had a coworker that had more luck in the morning call me. I instructed her not to hang up until I was out of bed and had the shower running. I found talking to a friend early in the morning really woke me up, you should try it
In the past I've also tried plugging my iPod into the radio, so when the alarm went off it would blast some Metallica to wake me up. Try staying asleep while some killer solo is being played on the radio... only problem with that was that I was sometimes late because the music inspired me to play some guitar before work
I dont use any alarms or anything like that. When I go to sleep , I concentrate on my breathing and think in the hour that I want to wake up the next morning , normally is 5:30, and thats it your biological clock is the more acurrate clock that exists. I go to bed around 11 pm normally.
What you need is a bucket of icewater and an alarm clock at the bottom of the bucket. This alarm should make tons of noice and the only way to deactivate it is to scan your eyes at the bottom of the bucket
Or, an alarm goes of and you have 3 seconds to move or something heavy will drop down on you.

I always get up with the alarm of my cellphone. I try to pick the most annoying sound, so I have to get up to put it off.
It works... sometimes.
Left undisturbed I will easily sleep till 1-2pm.
On school days I am awoken by the blazing overhead light in my room, its the most effective way to wake me up, a sudden dose of bright light, not pleasant but everything else I sleep through. ugh.. 7am

I actually not get up in the morning at all! But at 12-1-2 pm ehhehe I know its a bad habit but I can't change it easily
yeah that's what I do.
I find I actually get a little freaked if I put anything heavy on....so I put ska on, puts me in the best mood.
(imagine, "I'm walking on sunshine" playing as your pulling the curtains open...like a cheesy cornflakes ad)
