We all know how good she was but this is something I haven't seen before. Beautiful clarity to her voice.

Success is not obtained overnight. It comes in instalments; you get a little bit today, a little bit tomorrow until the whole package is given out. The day you procrastinate, you lose that day's success.

ohmy.gif ohmy.gif You've never heard of her? I am surprised mate.

Have a listen to this, one of the most beautiful voices ever. She only became famous after she died which is so sad.

Thats a shame sad.gif

What I noticed was she had a really good ear. Her control in performance was perfect, bit hard to describe but performing just as good live compared to the album is something I notice very rare.

Yeah, you really wouldn't know her live recordings were live if you couldn't hear the audience.

Don't feel bad I've never heard of her either until this thread. Anyone else heard of this gal before? What song is she famous for? What is her genre?

I must be mistaken or it was a British thing. I thought she posthumously took the world by storm and being an American singer I'm surprised you've not heard of her Todd.

UPDATE:

I've just dug this out https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eva_Cassidy and it sends that it is a British thing.

Her voice is incredibly pure don't you think. I'm glad people are going to hear her on here that haven't before. I wonder if Ken knows of her.

Cheers

Great voice! Yeah never heard of her and she is not known over here far as I can tell. At least not much. She is evidently quite big in Britain sadly after her death. sad.gif

The song "Time After Time" was pretty popular over here in the early 2000's I think but I never knew who the artist was. The song is still used occasionally in some commercials I believe.

Eva Cassidy was the real deal.
She is known here as a Jazz singer and she had a Bluenote deal for a minute.
Never too popular as she didn't live long enough or record enough. And she passed away just prior to the "internet age".

She had one of, if not the, most pure soulful voices I've ever heard.

Time After Time was originally done by Cindi Lauper.

You're welcome Todd, just goes to show its always worth sharing anything. I thought she was globally known.

If I'm in a funk she reduces me to tears, her voice is that of an angel, hard to convey her voice in words.

I had a sneaking suspicion that someone else had written that. I just couldn't put my finger on who it was. Anyway, If I had a dollar for every talented artist that never made it big, I guess I would have at least a dollar.

Just bumping this, don't know why, just feels right, hopefully someone else might find some pleasure from her voice.

Also, I discovered this video of Ms Lauper, I never respected her as an artist until I saw this.
