Hi Gab

Right now, I want to play the blues.
I’d like to develop my internal metronome.

A few years ago I had captured this blues mp3 on Thomann Website
Here the audio capture : https://soundcloud.com/manu-ras/blues-1-thomann
I worked with my ear only, today I try to close it

yesterday, I captured on youtube : Josh SMITH's blues lesson played by Paul DAVIS
I work with video...it’s great but I have a lot of work with this one
I would post videos of my progress as soon as possible

Hi mate! That's a very cool solo! This type of solo guitar blues jam is a killer training for our phrasing and timing. One important thing is not only to learn this solo as it's played, but also understand the scales and arpeggios used in order to make your own improvisations.

Some more inspiration:

Hi Gab

here my firts REC 'Blues work'

1rts Blues
my own self-criticism
- it lacks swing
- The attack of the strings is too strong
- bend 1/4 and final vibrato are bad

2d blues
I don’t know much about licks
I have to work on it before I do my own self-criticism
I know, I have a lot of fun with this one.

Hi mate!! Great to hear you playing the blues!!

This is really good! You've already commented the things that need attention here. Dynamics (Picking too strong) and time feel should be the next goals.

However, this take has many positive sides, it only need more "blues feeling". Play along with the masters, listen and watch stuff by them.

Keep on the good job!!

Hi Gab,

The blues is really something I’ve always wanted to do but it’s so hard to keep the phraseas alive.
I love Roben Ford, his blues are so tasty.

Here a new take :
First part with shuffle beat 110 BPM
2d part without beat

Lately I’ve been filming myself early in the morning
I’m dressed in old pajamas rolleyes.gif

Also, I work string skipping lesson to 180 BPM
My playing got a little relaxed.
Despite everything, We can see my two hands tightening on the last note....
It’s really awful for the eyes mad.gif

heheh I like your Pijamas Blues!!

Man, this videos are impressing. Your progress is awesome! The blues jam has much more groove than the previous take. I love the feel and dynamics in both takes (with and without metronome). You are definitely on the right track.

The Hybrid Picking lesson is also very good. The first parts have some little sync issues, but the second half sounds very precise. I also think that your hand is more relaxed (mostly in the second half).

Congrats on your great job my friend!

That's a beautiful take mate! Unfortunately we only had 4 participants so I kept it open while organizing other collabs, but it didn't attract GMCers attention. I'll see if I can do anything with this one (maybe re-use the backing for a new collab and you already have the take!). The backing is beautiful and your take just perfect!

Hi Gab

thank you for the grading
It’s been a rewarding lesson, but as I said, it’s been mentally and physically tiring me.
I don’t want to play it anymore.

I take a lot of pleasure with the lesson of Guido
I learned licks 1a and 1b.... the timing here is a big challenge.
The fast licks is played against time, it is difficult to get there on the track without guido... For the moment I play with tablature and video guido

Both leads need work
I’ll work on precision before I learn the second

Here is the work after 2 days

Nice mate!! Guido's licks are addictive! This is very close. You still need to polish, mostly the faster passages, but you are very very close. Congrats!!
