This has got all of the main types of bending here and it's done in a back to back way that really focuses on the technique itself without any extra techniques to get in your way.
I'll leave you with one basic piece of advice, which is something I do... when string bending, always treat the low E, A & D strings us downward bends (bend the string down towards the floor). Always treat the G, B & E as upward bends (bend up towards you).
Deadline next Friday 20th April

This is going to be good. I'm not great at bending I can't help but feel bending is alot about having a good ear and in that regard is progressive. In fact alot of playing is being able to hear what's good and bad.

Yes, i think the same, most of the times i can bend the strings without problems, the difficult part is to find the pitch you are seeking in one movement, opposed to what i do most of the times, move the string up and down without being completely sure where should i land

The great thing is you can play the desired note on the same string first before you try bending to it. Keep using it as a reference point and match the tone with your ears

If it's OK with you, I wish to do the beginner task right now. I really need to focus on the basics and I will do my best here.

Of course, you may choose any Task you wish

Just a typo of course. I meant Task ! This is hurting my sausages. How are you doing on this one, people ?

Bonjour,
this is really a finger killer! I can't play it really often each day, because my fingers burn! So, here is a first take at 86 bpm, just to show you I'm working on it (and on legato, but it's for another thread ). Can you tell me the things I've got to work on. The most difficult parts are the two bends where you have to use two strings (E and B ), playing the E string, bending, playing the B string which is also bended, and releasing the B string.
À bientôt (les bends aussi sont très difficiles ! )
Hey this is sounding very nice Most of your bending id dead on !
The only dodgy bend is on the bottom string at 0:48..
Those bluesy bend and release bends you're talking about are notoriously difficult to learn. However, it sounds like you've got the hang of it. Just beware of the B string slipping out from under your finger when you release the string back down because it sounds like it's being released and making noise ?
Really strong playing, though !

Hi Ben - first I'd like to say good job to GrindGuer.
Ok here's my take. Not happy with my bending. I'm hit and miss all the time as you can hear. I'm trying to analyse what I need to do and I'm thinking maybe I should just bend really slow so I can really hear all the movement up to pitch? Hmm

Appericate your feed back Ben.
Cheers
Wow.. again another brilliant submission. I think you guys are being quite hard on yourselves (although I understand why, as you want to improve) because I'm very impressed with this as well. Most of the bends are totally respectable !
Yes, you got it.. as I'm always saying (and having to remind myself..) 'Give yourself time to get it right !'
Really, really great work, both of you !

Hey, that's not so bad Zoom ; You did great. I've done a take at full speed, and a video. Same problems than before : some strings ring when they should not. I think the bends are quite OK. I don't know if I should post this as a REC take, or if I should give myself time to get it right ! Cheers

Tres Bien !
Very, very good.. the bending is superb. I would submit it for REC, definitely.
I noticed a couple of pick/finger synch issues near the beginning.. I'm not sure if it's a case of the finger hitting the note before the pick or the other way around but anyway, these little things can be tightened up with a little turn of the screw

A couple of tough acts to follow here.
Yeah, that two string bend was the hardest thing for me. (I messed up both of those in this take) Next up would be target-pitch consistency.
But bending is fun.

This rocks !!
Even though they weren't perfect, your fingers were in the right places and hittin' the right strings so the only thing those two string bends need are time and practise. I'm really impressed with your pitch and those pre bends are fantastic.
You know what ? All of you guys have done a really awesome job of this Task !! Sensei is proud !!
