It would be great to see a lesson in this style. I'm not sure how popular they are outside of the US, but over here you can't turn on any classic rock station without hearing one of their songs. I like their style because they write guitar parts that are more focused on complementing the song, instead of being flashy. Even with this style of writing, they still remain a guitar band with great guitar parts.

This is just a few of their songs to give an idea of their sound.

I love .38 special as well - The way they integrate multiple guitar parts into an overall sound is fantastic.

If you haven't already, you might want to pick up the "Guitar Anthology"

http://www.amazon.com/Special-Guitar-Antho....38+special+tab

It has multiple parts transcribed, and it's quite the education to see how everything fits together.

Nice songs. I think that I've heard them on the radio but I didn't know their name. They have good guitar work and production in their music. I will think on something.

By now you can check our 80's rock rhythm & solo lessons where you will find many arrangements related to this band.

Nothing wrong with a lil .38 special. Ha. As far as that '70s southern rock' thing, they stood out from a lot of crap bands.

There's a LOT of 70s bands with that same guitar playing mojo. They don't really have a southern flair, but Thin Lizzy I think would be a great one to dive into. They've had some great players.
