Yes Gunthrie is an over-the-edge guitarist - uses all kind of stuff very fluently! Jawdropping!

The Larry Carlton style track improv is my favorite of those bluesjamtracks.com videos. If you like watching him live, look for the Tone Merchant performance / clinic DVD's. Guthrie's two "Creative Guitar" books are quite good as well. He also writes monthly for Guitar Techniques magazine in the UK, which you can actually find in a lot of book stores in the US.

He is mind-blowing. I love how he has so much control during those really fast passages. I also like how he uses his fingers to pick sometimes to change dynamics.

I have his Erotic Cakes cd!! I have to say that this guitar player has an incredible technique, nice sound and great ideas. I recomend GMC to listen to the cd!!
