Hi guys,

I'm looking around in guitar world to check out what kind of guitars exist. I looked up some site, and I found out I knew nothing about how they'd sounds, I only see the looks! I'm just looking around, and my budget would be like 300$ but that's realy the max, actually I think 200$ would be more realistic. Anyone knows some good 2th rank brands? I mean like my Richwood, they make copies only.

thnx GMC,

Kaz

Try second hand, you can get some pretty good first rate guitars at second rate prices, i got my PRS on ebay for about a 3rd of the original price and it was immaculate

Yep that's true. I mostly use second hand, because i can just get higher quality for the same price. What brands are good? I mean playable, but also sound.

well, you can get a good PRS SE for about £200, which is what im using

I think it may be worth you saving up for a proper company guitar, therel be a huge difference even between the lower end proper guitars and the 2nd rank copy brands

I bought my Epiphone Les paul custom for around $280 second hand, really good buy for the money!. You get a quality les paul sound but at an affordable price, plus you can try them out new at guitar stores and if you like them, get on ebay and shop around, some go really cheap. Low budget does no mean a bad guitar, all the guitar mentioned above are great guitars... Yes even the yamaha!!!! lol.

I would definatly look on ebay dude and check out the used prices for the guitars mentioned, read reviews on GMC and the internert and always stick to your budget! Peace!

I picked up an Ibanez GSA 60, with case, and a distortion pedal off of e-bay for $100. It's a lower-end guitar, but it's fine for practicing.

Ibanez makes the best budget guitars there is. Even the cheapest ones are very playable.

In my opinion that is smile.gif

I have a $75 Ibanez and it plays pretty well, especially for so cheap.

I would highly recommend looking at an Ibanez RG120. It's a great hard rocker w/trem and very inexpensive, especially if you can find one used. cool.gif
Check it.

Atomic Customs is based out of Memphis, TN, and I believe is headed up by folks who work for the Gibson plant there. They ALWAYS have Gibson clones on ebay available at about 225$ USD for a Les Paul clone. I don't know how good they are but I've been fancying picking one up. Some of their burst finishes look pretty good for that price point. I think it's just a guy with his hobby trying to make a couple bucks on the side. I've been thinking about getting one and hot rodding it to kind of round out my collection somewhat.

EDIT: I just checked it otu and he doesn't have many online right now, a semi hollow and a flat black LP clone. Here is the LP Clone

LP Clone

Since I've not played one I cannot vouch for quality, but they look pretty good in the pictures.

Edit pt. deux: Well, I take that back, they're made over seas then set up in their shop before going out. I have no clue where they're made. So I have no clue on the quality. Flip a coin, my recommendation is worthless other than that they look neat tongue.gif

I like the Ibanez look, but are they also good for playing non-metal? Are there any other nice Ibanez cheap models? I indeed found out that they have Ibanez GSA's for around 90$!! probably a lot of shipping costs..to bad I dont' live in the USA tongue.gif

You can also check out some london city guitars

I got my London City Comet Mk1 for 235 euro's, it's a really great guitar!! I have a friend who bought a fender mexico guitar for like 500 euro's which I played, but I must say that the Londen City Comet plays much nicer !!

Mark.
