GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ And My Questions Start.....

Well my first problem I havealways noticed is that although I pick up on Kris's stuff fast, I do have some idea about guitar technique, I notice that Kris's sound is so much better. I also know he's much more advanced at this than me. Butttttt, is his guitar better or his gear. I am playing with an Epiphone SG on a VOX amp with Valvetronix. I really would love to know if hes using peddles or certain amp settings in each lesson. I seem to have trouble if I cant play close to what he sounds like. Even if my playing has some accidental muted chords, from fingers I forget thatI have lol.

Some of its technique, some of its his guitar, some of it is his amp settings, and pedals or w/e he all uses its just how he does what he does but...my personal view on sound is..never copy some1..mess with your knobs..a lot..and try to find YOUR SOUND..not kris's..(its a very nice sound he has though tongue.gif)..thats makes a guitarist...unique..he has his own sound!!!! not metallica's...or..w/e...but i guess though.if kris's sound is your sound..then..well...then i believe..if you look at lick of the day...and scroll down some..he tells you what his amp settings are at!!!!!

my 2 cents!!!

You know you just changed my whole outlook on sound and ability. I think I am going to start watching the techniquw more and caring less about the sound to a point. Then I am going to find my favorite amp settings and design my own output. WOW, I never thought about it like taking someone elses sound. I am really glas you posted that. Man! That really opened up my eyes.

Thanks
