> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

It took me a while to record a take that I thought was good enough to submit. Here's what I chose!

Hi Trey, very strong take - well done !

Try to take care with your string bends. I noticed that when you did that index finger bend at around 0:38 you let go of it prematurely. Although you can use your index finger for bends (and I do it a lot) remember that it's only one finger on its own so it might not feel as strong as using your 2nd or 3rd finger to bend so you might have to put extra care into it, ok ? smile.gif

I see a bad habit in that you do tend to leave you fingers out on their own to do vibrato. Instead of using just one finger, use your other fingers (the ones that come before it, so if you're playing with the 3rd finger, use your 1st and 2nd) to fret onto the string too so then you have the strength and control of 3 fingers, not just one. I go through all of this on my thread about vibrato

Hi mate! Ben said exactly what I was going to say about your Vibrato technique. Your fingers don't have enough strength and at the same time you let them alone doing the whole job. Check out our lessons to see exactly what we do with the other fingers when we do vibrato.
The bends also should be more precise. Your timing is good on this one. Keep on working hard!

Hey Trey smile.gif You already know my thoughts as we have discussed in your mentoring thread, so I am just grading wink.gif

This is a good take, but you can get an even better one, with focusing on what me and the guys have told you!
