GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ My Wah Pedal Switch Won't Click

Posted by: Dexter Mar 13 2011, 07:00 PM

Hey guys,

Not sure if I broke my wah pedal, but when I step on it or manually try to press the button down under the foot pedal, it doesn't click to engage.

It just goes all the way down and springs back up.

Do I need to take it apart to fix it, or is it broken to the point where it needs to be sent back to the manufacturer?

You can loosen or tighten the screw on the switch, it might help

he mentions it in this video i think

Sounds like the switch is broken to me. Fear not though, it's a very cheap and easy repair!! There's plenty of replacement switches available and it's only a matter of undoing the lock nut, putting the new switch in and then re attach the wires to the new switch in the same places!

Dunlop CryBaby, GCB-95.

I didn't think I could break that switch with all 155 lbs of my weight stepping on it haha.

Sometimes you just get a faulty switch from the manufacturer! It may be that there's a small fault with the latching mechanism inside the switch, it doesn't always take a large man with big feet to break one!!! tongue.gif

It happens often with Crybaby wahs. Replacing the switch is cheap, and there are switches available online. First take it to the shop to see if you can get a replacement.
