Hey GMC this is my new Song I've been working on It has that instrumental rock/metal style to it but is a christian Rock

hope you like ..... also if anyone is interested in seeing a backing track to this ; ) been thinking about it

Hey Vulpine, I've listened to your song, and you have a great feel for catchy riffs and melodies. Both the opening riff and the main melody are very strong and enjoyable. The playing could be a little more tight, but you're on a good way for sure!
Apart from playing very tightly, I would experiment more with the drum loops, creating more variations and drum fills. A little volume rise for the drums would be a great idea too.

All in all, a good song indeed, it has a Satriani-vibe which is a great thing. Congrats and keep us posted if you have more songs!

Hey mate! As Jonas said, you have a good sense of melody, but you need to focus on a few things:

- tightness - some of the phrases and the riffs are a bit out of timing in respect to the drum track
- some bends are not reaching the correct pitch
- you tend to lose direction and thus stop the flow of the piece with some phrases

You are on the right track though! Keep experimenting as you got what it takes to make good music!

Hi Vulpine! I like the feeling of this new song. There is something with the rhythm guitar (the flanger riff) that doesn't convince me. At first, it seems that it's not perfectly tight with the drums, maybe you can move it a bit in your daw? or re-record it? Also the equalization is too bassy and makes the overall mix too full, so check the EQ of that guitar! By the way the track is good, it just needs some adjustment!

I got a satriani/buckethead vibe from this. As others have said the phrasing could be tighter, that would really bring it up another level.

and just to be awkward, without lyrics what makes it Christian Rock?

Good Question Posterboy and I guess to share this ill say that
I havent played this song in a church or anything and I dont sing or write lyrics but in my heart this solo /song was dedicated to Jesus I was reading a book called "No wonder they called him savior"

and As I was reading a certain chapter in the book that was called "the Cry of Loneliness" that talked about a women named Judith bucknell who died in a homocide but lived a lonely life they kept her diary which pretty much to sum it up in a nutshell always longed for someone everyone around her had a spouse or husband or friends for that matter except her

I was reading the end of the chapter it made me realize that there prolly alot of "Judith Bucknell's" out there who are longing for something or someone and are lonely and I personally can relate, but the chapter reminded me that Jesus who was once alone as he was dying for us as he was being mocked and had to endure all of that for our sins as he layed their on the cross I was reminded that He too understands what it is like to be alone. so

I Dedicated this solo to my savior and to me thats what makes this song a "Christian Rock" and I will most likely be composing more songs dedicated to God the song I shared with you guys a few months ago "Forever in your arms" also a dedication = ) check it out if you havent

Congrats on putting a spiff track together! Each one is a victory and a lesson all by itself. Has a great vibe to it As was mentioned, you seem to lose synch with the beat during certain parts, (around 22 seconds is where I first heard it) and some bends are a tad shy, but all this can be fixed with a bit of practice and a quick re record!

The rhythm part im playing an E add9 to a G#5 (or Ab5 however u look at it)

so the Key is in I look at is as Ab minor

Thanks Todd this started out as an improv and from their alil edit and some melodies I had in mind as I was putting the solo part together , the first measure or two was roughly improv.almost nonchalant and I left it there almost on purpose but

I felt the later parts of the solo would show more feel and emotion and the feel of the song would begin to grow So thats how I approached it and It's one of the things I see Buckethead and Joe satriani do both both of which im heavely influenced by ... Buckethead would sometimes play some Diminished stuff or wholetone stuff and then he'll resolve it with something nice

or Joe satriani will go from a minor sounding mood to a happy sounding mood like "revalations" where it starts off slow then gradually progress , now I know I have a long way to go to playing like them but I enjoy the journey

Hey mate - nice story behind the song Usually, pieces of music that have a clear source of inspiration, will carry a message with them which can be perceived by people. Sometimes they will get the message you wanted to transmit, other times they will understand their own version - in the case of instrumental melodies, that is. But nevertheless, you will transmit something Good work and keep on sharing with us
