Posted by: Caelumamittendum Aug 2 2009, 11:39 PM

I got a bit inspired and curious from the other thread about practicing while wearing the guitar high, so here it goes:

The picture edition - show us how high you wear your guitar!

I'll start:

(I'm most likely in the high end! laugh.gif)

Dont have a picture at the moment but i like to wear my guitar low for a more metal look

Posted by: ZakkWylde Aug 3 2009, 12:09 AM

I have no recent picture, only one from when I was still growing my hair but oh well...

Generally I have my guitars so low that the bridge pickup is in front of my *groin* ^^

True! I do find it easier to play when having it at that height. It also adds a geekiness that I don't mind tongue.gif

Actually, I think Tom Morello wears his guitar equally as high:

Simply put, I wear mine way too high to be cool laugh.gif

I'll see if I can get a picture of my uncoolness.

Guees thats the way it has to be, you have to sacrifice everything for the guitar !! biggrin.gif

People probably find that Frank Gambale wears his guitar too high. I actually think he looks pretty cool! tongue.gif

I adjust it to the same height it would be as if I'm sitting down with it in my lap.

I like Allan Holdsworth and Joe Satriani too, but when I try to mix Satriani's and Holdsworth's techniques on my guitar, I wear my strap between the two smile.gif

Or I sit down. smile.gif

its an ibanez sa, it has coil splitting tonality modifier but the tru duo pickups arent that powerful. Its more for looks than for playing ability. i give it a 5/10 sadly

around my waste, I dont go in for the petrucci look myself but it must make things easy wink.gif

Posted by: -Zion- Aug 5 2009, 11:45 PM

i thought i played fairly "not too high - not too low", but looking at myself on the picture it may be a bit too low..

anyways. this is how i play..

Portnoy looked like a kid tongue.gif

I wear my guitar relativitely high. It aim for full comfort, and at least the needed range at the neck if playing solos.

I believe that your body language says even more to your style then the height of the guitar, even though it looks killer when Zakk or Trujillo have their guitars at their knees biggrin.gif

When playing bass I tend to have the bass lower unless I play some funk or such, then I favorise the comfort of having it high.
