Hey mate! Let's work on Your timing in this thread. I would like You to try a little series of lessons, chosen by me. I could then take a close look at what's happening with Your hands etc and give You some further advices.
Aside from what You like to play most, I would truly suggest to try some funky lessons. Why? Because funky mainly about the groove and rhythm. Also rhythm groups founded in funky are very often hard to keep in perfect timing - because of the specyfic accents. Being out of time in funky kills whole the "funky-ness"
It would be best workshop.
As for the timing there is one hard rule that exist no matter what You play - YOU HAVE TO BE VERY CONFIDENT OF WHAT YOU PLAY.
There is no place for wondering "where that finger should go right now" etc. When Your fingers are 100% prepared for the lick/pattern then You can 100% focus on timing. Otherwise any moment of hesitation will end up with time issues
