since there is no critiria for setting lesson difficulty it is a biasicaly a rough estimate by a guitar player which is usually very far from a student in his lvl. it is hard for him to determine the exact lvl. so why not in addition to this rating make a user avarage based rating. after all a lessons difficulty should be how hard it is for the avarage guitarist.

I like that idea! I agree with you that it is difficult to set a level of difficulty, I always struggle with that while preparing my lessons...

It's a cool idea! We would then get an average difficulty by students who practice the lesson which would be useful to everyone...But I don't know how hard is to implement this kind of feature. smile.gif

Yes it would be very useful, it is hard to put your self in student's place so we all overestimate student's capabilities, or what certain level really means.

It's not a bad idea, I see your point mate. These lvls as they appear now are just a general guideline to a complexity of the lesson. Normally you can see if you can play the lesson when you check out the main video.

i believe thats this is also not entirely true. becuase many things looks more complex than they are or less complex than they are. and it a bommer to start learing something just to find out suddenly that one of the things that looks simple is a pretty intense string skiping sweep.

User's personal practice agendas might also be the way to go...
Maybe creating some routine agenda practices targeted to student's personal levels.
Although that is kind of what MTP is about in a way...

Sounds good, this way the community could set the lvl as they see it smile.gif

I'm not saying it's a bad idea, it's a good one, but user ratings are subjective and one cannot determine if the lesson is hard or easy to learn just by checking out average ratings if you know what I mean. What may be easy for you, it may be hard for someone else, and vice versa.

but thats true to teachers estimation as well. because a lesson could be a 5 but a great played who dowsnt know how to sweep it would be a 10 to him. you can say the same about everything. if users can rate what we would get is how hard it will be for the "avarage gmcer" obviously no such person exist but its the closest you can get to how difficult is the class
