Hi Markus, I dont think it`d need to be as the original, I like the idea of maybe a little improvisation around the lesson basis, so your backings could maybe just follow the feel/idea of the original?

Absolutely! No problem!
If you later on decide you want some extra cymbals or maybe the sound of a car crash in there, or something like that
, we can just add that later

This really is a great idea Marcus. Something to think about in another collaboration which would be similar to this, is for people to take individual parts of one lesson and play them and then you could mix them all together.
I think that would be cool too. You would already have the backing tracks done so it would be less work. This collab though, is much better than that because you are essentially creating a new song out of several lessons which is going to sound great!

I think matching the tempos might be quite hard, but I am sure you can do it somehow
Key changes are great and challenging and should absolutely be a part of this!

Gosh Marcus this is such a cool idea I have to try something!
My absolute favourite lesson is Muris' SRV style http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-guitar/srv-stevie-ray-vaughan-lesson/
But I'm not sure I can do it justice though I will do my best...
I'd like to do the beginning till 00.20 (or 00.26 if you want to get the whole first 12bar rhythm bit) if that's ok and will fit in with all the other songs GMC'ers have chosen.

You got it exactly right
One important thing though. You must send two mp3 files; One mp3 where your playing is mixed with the backing track. And one mp3 with your guitar only (ie: without the backing track)
I prefer if you keep the track as dry as possible (no effects, compresson or eq)

ok Marcus...But, no big deal and stress, please....you don`t have to make anything special... I will try to put Muris´ lesson style into your backing track (your drums backing track doesn´t have to be in 7/8, 9/8 or others oriental rhytm, it can be in 4/4). Alternativ is, that you can send just drums backing track f.ex. in 4/4, key, and I will do the rest.

Well yeah, you can have bunch of different grooves and rhythms all in 4/4,
it depends of accents INSIDE of bar.

Did we need to tell you the tempo for which we can play the lessons?
actually our parts will longer than we state if we do it slower.

Good question!
Yes, if you can't play it in full speed, it's good if you can tell me what bpm you want!
But I figured I will do the parts in the original tempo at first. Then if someone have trouble nailing it at full speed I can very easily just slow it down, so I don't think it will be any problems.
I hope I get the backing track finished by this weekend!

Great!!
If possible, try record the video at the same time you record the audio. Then it won't look like it's playback

Sure, if there's no other way. Then try to record it that way and we'll see if the quality is good enough. But remember that it's not good if the backing track is heard.

I agree with you Twibeard, Marcus must have gone to a
lot of effort to put this amazing backing track together, I`m not sure who is left to upload but I really think they ought to either say now if they cannot do it for any reason (so Marcus maybe able to edit out) or upload asap!
Its really not fair on Marcus or the others that have made the effort to upload their takes.

The timing is a tiny bit of (at least I think it is) latency problem? maybe move your take a bit in reaper
