Hi dudes!
It seems i ask questions about gear/effects/tones on a daily basis now - so why break the habit !!! I was wondering what gives fender tube amps that glassy twangy sound ? Is it a special type of reverb? the preamp? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyeinBX_dx8 thanks!!

Thats how Strat single coils sounds. Probably no super special effects.

Its not just the guitar - Fender amps are known for their glassy cleans - that would not sound the same through a Marshall. Fenders use 6L6 tubes, and make some design choices that emphasise this kind of sound.
Having said that, it is mostly the single coil strat sound you are hearing. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

If you need/want a fender sound from a pedal, there are these:

One other amp choice for glassy type clean - a good transistor amp like a Roland JC 120. Trannies generally don't do distortion well but clean they often excel at. (Just don't think that sticking a distortion pedal on the clean channel will give you a Mesa Boogie Triple Rec though - you'll just get a pretty nasty buzz saw
 )Apart from the valves in the Fender another thing that helps here is the quality of the reverb. Fender usually use an excellent Accutronics. Well you can't exactly run it through your PC - it takes the place of your existing soundcard (of course you can choose to use either). But you have to hook the output up to a stereo amp and speakers - that could be a set of computer speakers of course, but you would need to unhook them from your existing soundcard, get the right cables/adapters to hook up to your pod.
