KEMPER is releasing a floor control unit for their spiff KEMPER amp profiler. Looks cool
The BAD NEWS? It's going to cost about $1,000 U.S.!!!! EGAD!!! It looks great, and I'm sure it will work great, but wow. Nearly a grand just for a floor controller? That's just a bit insane me thinks? When you could just use the Behringer FCP for a couple hundred bux brand new with the custom eprom chip pre installed? One thing that seems BRILLIANT that I found recently is a KEMPER SOFTWARE EDITOR!!! Now this is freaking spiff Use your laptop or tablet I'm guessing (assuming using it as a desktop monitor extension) to control your kemper. Something like this should honestly come bundled with the kemper. Does anyone know if any software control comes with the kemper? For the price is seems like it should? Even the 11 rack has a free software editor http://www.tonymckenzie.com/kemper-midi-pr...udio-review.htm This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Jan 18 2015, 08:42 PM |

$599 ain't cheap, but it's line with the price for the FA mfc101. And if the mfc101 is any indication, it should quite popular.

You get a Kemper, that's it, I want to say in the end of 2014, we got a rig manager. It doesn't do anything but I think let you rename profiles and delete/add them. That is as far as it goes.

There is a KEMPER SOFTWARE EDITOR! An enterprising guy made one! Here is the down load link.
http://www.evergladesaudio.com/audio-midi-apps/ I was a bit stunned that a third party had to create a software editor is all. AXE FX and 11 RACK both come with very handy software editing programs. Being able to tweak settings without having to actually touch the unit is quite handy IMHO If you get a chance, download the software and let us know if it's good! Todd The rig manager lets you load any of the 5000+ profiles in your profiler instantaneously. Ie search for "Sad but true", double click and you're home. I'd love an editor, but the Kemper even with the current eco system is incredibly powerful and versatile. Because I am not playing live currently I have no real need for the remote control. But so far this company has done everything by the book as far as I can tell - and I have not got any indication that this will not be the case with the floor unit either. I would love to read a first review though. Very true Propietary closed systems have distinct advantages. This is why you don't see wads of music creation apps on ANDROID. It's an open platform so Latency varies wildly depending on the builder. On the iphone/ipad, it was built as a media device which is why it's made it's way in to studios This argument reminds of when the iphone came. It took people a bunch of years to understand proprietary has advantages as well, one of them being seamless hardware/software integration.

But the MFC101 is has much more than this floor unit True, but the MFC101 price, at $749, is higher than the price of this new Kemper pedal board. At the same time, it seems reasonable that the Kemper price should be higher than simple midi pedal controllers like a Behringer fcb, so it seems like it's in the right range. Anyway I'm sure many people will be trying it out on thursday . I know I will. -------------------- Cyber-industrial music and video animations:

Maybe folks in england must pay an inflated price, but elsewhere it's 499 euro or 599 dollars:
