A friend of mine made a trip with the local blues-society to Chicago in 2008 in order to experience the music scene.
He did bring his pocket recorder and visited a lot of concerts, amongst them a concert with Honeyboy Edwards (91 years old!!!).
The page is in Swedish, but if there is some interest, I will be happy to translate it for ya!
Just click on the buttons named "Lyssna" to listen to the recordings. They were edited some in his home studio, but still I think the sound is great for a pocket recorder!!!

I love Chicago, walking into almost random bars and seeing a great blues band perform... About time I go there again... smile.gif

Yeah... Honeyboy is just amazing to see (hear).... He was said to be a friend of Robert Johnson in the delta, but who knows really...

Who knows indeed. If he did, it would be perfectly normal for him I guess. It's the other people who created myths around Robert Johnson, he was in reality probably just a regular guy playing the music he loved. On the other hand, he was a music genius no doubt.

Amazing what google can do for us nowadays!
By the way, nice recording.
One of the best things in this forum is that you get to know so many Bands and musicians you would hardly discover by surfing the web on your own.
