It's just that the more (collabs) you attend - it comes easier. And often a backing track is taken from a lesson so you can go and take licks from there. I have done that many times. Its true what you are saying..but each of my takes had some good bits and bad bits and I kept deleting out of Reaper when there was a bad bit and starting again on a slightly different theme/syncopation...until I ran out of time. When I listened to everyone's takes before the end of the collab, I can only say that I was a bit gutted not to hear any bad bits ...no way was I going to submit. But I did learn that I need to have more ammo and areas I need to improve on : Like timing...playing solos using things other than just minor pentatonic....This is about the 6th or 7th time I have done this without submitting but the first time I mentioned it. Thanks for the encouragement llibach,WeePee and Gab...I'm not that worried what people think..I'm just picky and like things to sound good.
