Whoa, this is one groovy collab, nice.
Bleez, that's one kick ass solo dude, fits the track so well, got my vote for the take of the collab. Must be all that drfiting in the scottish deserts that got you in the mood. wink.gif

I apologise for not sending anything yet...but to be honest it wasn't without trying hard for hours...I didn't even get near the standard that I think would be required...But I don't give up easily so if this collab is over I will endeavour to improve for future collabs. I'm a bit annoyed with myself to be honest that I didn't but I must say that its a steep learning curve trying to play a collaboration part.. I envy those guys who seem to do it and do it very well every time with style and originality and taste!

You shouldn't be too hard on yourself man. There ain't a standard that you have to achieve in these collabs it's all about fun and having a go, even steal some of your favourite licks and use them.
Even a crap take will get positive feedback on where to improve and focus your practice.

Thanks for your comments, Gab smile.gif I'll be reading them again to cheer myself up the next time I cant play stuff!
This collab turned out most awesome, full of really cool riffs and badass doom. Some of the links between the parts were so slick they sounded planned!

Yeah well said !! I remember thinking the same while listening others on collabs. It's just that the more (collabs) you attend - it comes easier. And often a backing track is taken from a lesson so you can go and take licks from there. I have done that many times. smile.gif And eventually you'll find your own style !!

Its true what you are saying..but each of my takes had some good bits and bad bits and I kept deleting out of Reaper when there was a bad bit and starting again on a slightly different theme/syncopation...until I ran out of time.
When I listened to everyone's takes before the end of the collab, I can only say that I was a bit gutted not to hear any bad bits laugh.gif ...no way was I going to submit. But I did learn that I need to have more ammo and areas I need to improve on : Like timing...playing solos using things other than just minor pentatonic....This is about the 6th or 7th time I have done this without submitting but the first time I mentioned it. Thanks for the encouragement llibach,WeePee and Gab...I'm not that worried what people think..I'm just picky and like things to sound good. smile.gif

Ive not done all that many collabs but im quite sure they were all minor pentatonic smile.gif
you can always work on a collab in your mentoring thread, to help refine the bits that you dont like.

Gitarrero: Hey mate! It’s cool to know your Stoner side. I think that there are some cool ideas there. I think that there are some parts that could sound cooler if you work a bit more the melodies. I think that you did too much use of long notes and changing that is what would make this solo more attractive. Be careful with those bends! Thanks a lot for your take, if not, the collab could be finished.

I'm glad to help you out to finish this collab biggrin.gif

Yeah, I noticed my bends weren't in tune all the time, I'm gonna work on that!

Thanks for your feedback, looking forward to your next collab.
