> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Pedja's lesson here

My attempt here

Gear: Les Paul. Mesa Mavrick. Z1 camcorder.

As I said to Pedja I know the sound is off, the camcorder doesn't have an adjustable mic input level so as soon as I try to push the amp it (the camcorder) just distorts, think it is almost acceptable but if you would like me to re-record it before grading please let me know.

I discussed with Pedja changing some of the fingerings and he was cool with it.

I think there should be a poll added now

Kieran

Very nice take, I'll give you an 8 for it. Just try to make sure that your bends really reach the note that you are aiming at.

Very nicely played, but you lack a flow, it sounds a bit too staccato-ish for my taste. It's well played take tho.

Its a good take but you have to pay attention to legato/staccato playing. You want to hold on to the notes letting them ring and sustain where its needed.
