Robk87 - Eddie Van Halen Style |

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

I used (my new) Guitar Rig 4 for the sound, along with my Ibanez RG and Evolution PUs. Robert This post has been edited by skennington: Apr 10 2010, 03:49 AM |

Great take. You tackled all the difficulties from the lesson properly, rehearsed them nicely, and the overall control over the tone is good. There are some minor problems here and there, mainly on transitions of bigger chunks (possibly you didn't rehearse those as much as the actual parts). But all in all, since there are only minor things that are wrong here, I think you deserve a strong 9.

i give you a 9 my brother.
and some tips, you may wanna turn a little bit the mid/bass freq, and give the sound a nice scoop (like eddie), and also when you recording a solo like this, give the backing track a little more presence in the mix, it will sound fuller, and it will hide your mistakes, we all make mistakes but on a band context they show less, i'm not talking about a super strong band with a little guitar in the background, but check popular song mixes and you will get what i mean. very good! -------------------- Check my Instructor Profile Rockers!
