GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Mozilla Keeps Deleting My Favourites!

Posted by: Hungus Aug 31 2007, 09:48 AM

Hey guys as the title suggests Mozilla keeps randomly deleting all of favourites and it makes me a very sad panda... I was just wondering if anyone had any idea why it might be doing this or what I can do to fix this.

Whoever helps me fix this gets a cookie... and possibly a lollipop.

Cheers guys smile.gif

Yhea weird thing is that I never had that problem for well over a year and then BAM it started doing it to me every couple of weeks. It was most gutting the 1st time though as I lost a lot of obscure websites that I will never find again sad.gif

Not a solution, but maybe a workaround ...

Get yourself an account on del.ico.us - its a web based bookmarking site.

Then download the del.ico.us extension for firefox. It completely replaces the built in bookmarking system with (IMO) a better one. It has the added advantage that you can hook the same set of bookmarks up to as many different machines as you like - maybe at home and at work. And finally if your PC blows up, your bookmarks are still out there for when you save up for a new machine smile.gif

Try http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookmarks. I have this happen at work to some staff. Grrr!
