If your doing insanity Oasis; your a badass. That is one tough workout. I like to listen to podcasts when I work out. They take my mind off of working out.

I use to listen to different type of music but hard rock uses to give me some extra motivation.

I wonder about that insanity workout, I didn't know it... what's about?

Yeah mate it is hard going mentally and physically but is very rewarding and ADDICTIVE smile.gif Taking your mind of what you are doing when working out can sometimes be the best thing to do as time passes a lot quicker

I also tend to listen to the hard rock as well Gabriel

Its just a DVD workout routine made up from a Track runner guy called Shawn T. It basically pushes your body hard for 3 minutes then you get a 30 second break. Then you repeat this process. It is really hard going but gets you really fit. smile.gif

Heh! I train 4 days a week on bodyweight and a bit of weight lifting. For me, it's usually Pantera all the way biggrin.gif and when I train with the sword, I put on some meditation music or traditional Japanese music.

Interesting! I will have a look to it. I need something that makes doing exercise entertained because I get bored at the gym doing repetitions. Do you find this workout funny to do?

I let my imagination help out sometimes smile.gif It's a bit freaky, but it works - each time I have a last round to reach like in pull-ups, which are the nastiest, by the way, when the body feels like it doesn't want to go on, I think that if I won't make this last one, a kid will die somewhere. Guess what - it's a VERY STRONG motivation and it works!

I used to listen to a lot of this type of music while working out. But I guess most music usually motivates me, even J-pop works or J-rock, why not.

Insanity is just crazy, you don't really have time to think other than please don't get sick. I tried just the warmup and quit it! laugh.gif

If time is a factor there is a new one out called P90X3 it's a very fast paced work out like Insanity but its limited to 30m a day but still pushes your body to the limit even with that amount of time.

Gym music, hmm... Usually to the gym I listen to lighter music, then when I hit the gym anything thats heavy with a groove. After that on the way home I just listen to lighter music for a little bit to collect my thoughts and rest my body.

Most people will probably laugh at me for saying this but I actually only found out about Pantera 4 year ago. I have to admit though I do really like their music smile.gif

Cosmin what kind of things do you do with your sword training it sounds really interesting

I know wheat you mean Gabriel I went to the gym a few year back and also found it very boring.

I personally do find insanity fun as I do enjoy pushing myself hard when working out. I like to test my determination and insanity certainly does. I will say it is definitely not for everyone though

That first video sounds very different but I actually like it smile.gif

I love all those kind of bands. When I first heard of all those bands thats when my music taste changed. My favourite was Linkin Park with Hybrid Theory. Its coming up on 14 year ago since that album came out. Doesn't feel like that long ago.

Hehe biggrin.gif It's never too late to discover good music!

I am a kenjutsu/battojutsu practitioner - more precisely Taisha Ryu and a bit (for the moment) of Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu. These are classical Japanese sword schools (koryu) founded in the 16th and 17th centuries ... there's really A LOT to tell here, but just to make an idea:

To be honest, my hands and head and elbows are the most exposed and yes, I have scratches on my hands all the time, due to splinters. But trust me, it's a great incentive in respect to learning and practicing your blocking techniques smile.gif
