If mixo is still available, I'll have a go at it, I'm feeling brave. (I'll need to listen to the backing track though!). smile.gif

Ok, Tank is on the Mixo. Looks like we'll be using distortion sound on this one.
There's only one left!
The Aeolian is there, hurry while it lasts!

Funny, I though Aeolian would be the 1st one to go... tongue.gif

OK - well, I'll give it a shot. A Aeolian right? To make sure I understand, we are supposed to jam in the scale that we are assigned to over the entire backing track and not just one part, make an MP3 of just our lead and no backing track and send it to you. right?

Its a collaboration, so it will be the synergistic total of the sum parts ...

Meaning everyone can just play what they play best and it will all work out somehow!

Yes, but that's the wrong way to think of it ... you should really learn each mode individually and forget how they are related.

Aeolian is natural minor yes, and there is a lesson on it here.

Aeolian went already though, maybe if there is enough interest Dave will run another of these simultaneously ...

Ok guys.
All the spots are filled as follow:

Ionian: Nick 325
Dorian: Ezravdb
Phrygian: Stratman 58
Lydian: Andrew
Mixolydian: Tank
Aeolian: Jeff
Locrian: Mickey M

Record in distortion. Record your part only on the mode you picked.
The backing track goes through all 7 modes in order, so you should make sure you are playing over the correct segment of the backing track.
Once your lead recorded, post only your lead here. You want to make sure that only your guitar is heard, mno backing track.. That's why you need to have your guitar plugged directly in the computer. Listen to Andrew's take for an example...

Now I have a question.. I need to download Andrew's posted track on my computer to mix it with the rest of the song...

How do I do that? mellow.gif

Using firefox, click on it, it will open the player, then file->save as should do it.

Actually, right click on the link and save as should also work, but you need to rename it as an mp3 file.

Ok, somehow I changed my internet security settings and it wouldn't allow me to download. It's fixed now.
I'll mix all your leads as they come in...
