> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Blues Duet: Rhythm & Solo by Stephane Lucarelli

Take 2: I'm playing along with Stephane to get closer to the original and I dicovered some detais that are missing in the first Take. The bendings are not always perfect, I know that, but I think they are getting better and I will work on it.

the vibrato about 0:10 need some workout - try to focus on not overbending the note while vibrating. 0:23 seems like You play that lick a little out of time. Anyway it's pretty smooothly played with nice tone and the progress is visible. Please work on the bends that You already know need more attention. There are also some moments to be done exactly like in the lesson so take a good look at the tabs and slower parts - especially in the second half smile.gif

Hey man - looks like there is an almost imperceptible de-synchronising between the hands and aside that, I'd put some more attitude in the playing, as for now it doesn't yet transmit that bluesy vibe.

See, we are already starting to talk details here - the interpretation does everything in this case, simply because this lesson is not technical by nature, but it means to develop our sense of timing and expression, so these should be your focus points smile.gif

Keep rocking,

Cosmin

Hi mate, I think that the main thing to work on this one is timing. As I said before, it's not an easy lesson because you don't have drums to follow the tempo with precision. Your bending is better and your vibrato still needs more work. Keep on practising over the original lesson and post a take in one week if it's possible!
