Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Beginner Solo in D by Muris Varajic

I am beginner-intermediate guitar player and this is the first song i am learning in GMC. Love this solo on D by Muris. I have tried to be improvise it a little by adding some techniques i have learnt before.

Wellcome to the REC zone smile.gif It's great that You decided to share Your progress with us smile.gif You are very close to pass. Let mi point some things that needs more practice / improvement. First of all - from start to about 0:24 it goes pretty smooth with only some details to work with more stable bend and smoother vibrato. Your tone is very nice and the feeling of confidence too. After 0:25 it's easy to find out that You need to put more work in those alternate picking licks. This could be a problem with hands synchro or a pick stucking between strings. Try to focus more on every first note just after changing the string You play on. You can leave that last note on each string a bit softer tocollect some strength to do more precise connection while skipping to another string.

0:42 - top note of that lick is not precise. Tapping part just after need some more power - just play it harder.
0:52 - this bend is not in the right pitch

There are some more tiny flaws but need more practice than any particular advice

Also...trying to do next take please consider tuning Your guitar on the higher frets. I have a feeling like (especially) the 2nd string is a bit out of tune. Very often tuning guitars on frets gives much better results than tuning the open string. If You have a while please read this topic:

Anyway You did some cool playing and remember we're just talking about details that could help You become better and better smile.gif Good job smile.gif
