@yoncopin
Many Thx for covering my lesson! You're on the right way.

Also a big thx to my colleagues here:
It's always very interesting to me how other musicians analyze my style/playing. But to be honest: I never think about all this, I just play... biggrin.gif

Hi Bleez,
THX for covering my lesson! I think that's a good idea to make a 2nd part of this kind of style!
You're definitely on the right way with your playing, sounds really good!!!
The next step could be to make it a bit more smooth.
Speaking for myself it took me some years until all my licks, solos, etc just feel natural without even thing about any note. But then when you reach this new area it feels like your free and can do everything with feel and emotion (only technical difficulties are the limits then!!!)
For this lesson i just improvised a bit inspired by the great Gary Moore.

My nice collagues here already said evrything else! :-D

Keep rockin'!

Very sad sad.gif I am not a huge fan of "Core" bands, but he was quite a player. Sad to see him go so suddenly because of apparent mental illness. Apparently, he was bipolar and stopped his meds and jumped off a bridge. sad.gif

It's so weird how the human brain works sometimes! ;-(

Another musician has sadly passed. Justin Lowe from the band AFTER THE BURIAL. I was not a huge fan of their work, but I did like some of it for it's sheer aggression. I did respect Justin as a player and he was one of the first brave souls to embrace the 9 string. He suffered from mental illness and evidently found a bridge and jumped.

Here is a vid he did with the new ibby 9. A talented player who will be missed. I'm getting tired of seeing all these creative folks with this much potential dropping one by one.

Fantastic musician. i didn't know him before. Sad that he passed away....

Very spiff profiles!! There are quite a few kemper folks here on GMC smile.gif Mr. DAHL among them!! For the life of me I still can't figure out why they have no software editor for the kemper though. I know folks say the little screen is fine, and you can load amp models with the software for loading amps. But not having a software editor for a bit of kit that pricey just seems nuts. Even line 6 pods have an editor. Seems like an oversight for such an amazing bit of kit.

maybe they are afraid that if they put out an editor they would put AXE FX out of business?

THX mate! I have to say that i don't miss an editor at all because it's ultra fast to handle with the knobs and the display. But maybe someday they will do something like this... ;-)

Me and the 48 Volt Studio Hamburg have created two new excellent Kemper® amp profiles packages! in our opinion, the best that are currently are on the market. Get them here: http://www.guidorist.com/en/product-catego...r-amp-profiles/

"We have been experimenting very long and finally found the "sweet spots“ that make these two amps so popular. We have used first-class recording equipment such as the classic Neve® 1073 preamps from the Aurora Audio® Sidecar (Hand Built by Geoff Tanner). The results are extremely dynamic guitar sounds with soft silvery highs and rich punch. From Clean, over bluesy crunch to high gain. so all a rock guitarist actually wants!"As a bonus, there are suitably programmed effect settings (Stomps & Effects) that you can turn on or off depending on your preference !!!

Hope you like it, guys! ;-)

Can't you tell I'm a computer with bugs that need fixing?! wink.gif

No seriously - I am certainly not saying mistakes can't be part of keeper takes. Or that mistakes must be avoided. Mistakes is one of the beautiful things that separates us from machines, and who wants to sound like a computer?

However - for the sake of learning, analysing both the good and bad stuff is very important. After analysing we can make informed decisions about how we want to do the next time!

Speaking of which - does anybody want to comment on the good stuff in this solo? (if any smile.gif )

If we analyse this stuff as well - others will be able to replicate the thought process (and this is far more useful than borrowing the licks)

Yes, this is a very good guideline for writing leads!

You're a computer with bugs that need fixing! :-D

Seriously. we all make mistakes. But it's important to learn from these and to find out why they happen always on the same spot.
It's a looooong journey . But don't overestimate this by searching every tiny note or small noise for years and years and years... ! :-D

QUOTE (Kristofer Dahl @ Feb 13 2015, 09:27 AM) *
Here are some more mistakes:

00:14 - I mess up in the middle of the first fast run

00:18 - this run starts completely off time , but I somehow manage to find my way back- So I guess this could be perceived as "on purpose". Still the first impression is that it starts off wrong.

00:52 - No real mistake here, but the bend + vibrato is not very convincing, it shows I am very concentrated on the coming fast run. This is not good - if that run felt so tricky I had to stop and think about it, I should probably have skipped it.

C'mon, don't be so picky. We're human, so mistakes are normal. ;-)

QUOTE (Kristofer Dahl @ Feb 13 2015, 09:27 AM) *
In my opinion, the biggest mistake solo construction wise, was probably that I threw in too many fast runs. Some of those were not motivated musically - and usually if licks don't contribute to the whole, they do the opposite.

You're right. this is a really important point in general. Like all us guitar players, we have the tendency to play too much or play too fast, specially when there should be room for less notes e.g. ballads. . To avoid this I try to think and feel more like a singer(who needs to breathe between the phrases) rather than a guitar player. ;-)

WOW this sounds amazing Guido! smile.gif
Did you compare the Kemper tracks with original amp recordings? Is there any difference really?

Thanks for sharing the profile.

Many THX Bogdan,

Of course we compared the profiles with the original sounds and I didn't notice any difference in sound or feel. Just unbelievable!!!
This is the recordding future! :-D

QUOTE (Todd Simpson @ Feb 13 2015, 11:02 PM) *
Cool stuff!!! I hope they make a "kemper lite" model where it will just load kemper profiles. It would have to be cheaper! Or maybe better yet a plugin that will load kemper profiles!!

Thx a lot, Todd.
Yeah, this would be a great idea for sure!!!
