Jamest -- Neoclassical Solo For Beginners, Lesson by Emir Hot |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Equipment PRS Custom 24 Artist Line 6 Pod X3 Live Sonar I wanted to record this take before taking on the collab. Intructors/Emir, please comment on what you would do to get a tone with more "bite". I think in this take that the guitar doesn't cut through the mix very well. Should I add more/less gain? ...other options? Thanks for this lesson Emir. It ROCKS as usual. Edit: I should add that the 8th note vibrato here was a very good exercise. Initially, I tended to hold each note sharp until I learned to totally relax while moving the string letting it come all the way back in tune with each bend. ...still working on it, but this slower tempo helped me realize what needs to be done. Rhythm placement 4.9
Cleanness 4.9 Feel 4.8 Posture 4.6 Sound 4.5 Just on the edge Your bends are not that powerful. Bends are designed to kill the beast out of the guitar and the melody in this style of playing (neoclassical). Your bends are not as strong. Also when you're vibrating with the little finger you have to keep 8th notes feel. Don't vibrate faster. The control was great but the execution could have been more tight. Very good job in the end. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile
