My left hand is with a outer wrist cyst exactly like the left hand on this wikipedia article sad.gif
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganglion_cyst

I was intending to spend this vacation on more intensive guitar practicing. Now I will probably spend it on surgery recovery... sad.gif Tomorrow I go for more exams. Hope to know what´s the best treatement in my case

Anyone had this before? Did it took long to fully recover? How long did it mean out of guitar practicing?

My grandmother had such a one. Quite large. Kept getting in the way. She didn't play guitar though, but she seemed fine fairly quickly. And shes's about 90.

My brother had one.. It was pretty big. It only required the minimum of surgery, all done under local anesthetic and requiring just two or three stitches afterward. You'll be fine.

Took me more than 2 months to recover from my Pilonidal cyst dry.gif I had surgery and it took time for the flesh to grow back and I had to go have it picked and cleaned every day for the first 2-3 weeks so skin wouldn't grow back inside the cavity.
But with a hand like you suffer from I guess it's not so deep and healing will be a lot quicker compared to myself.

Good luck!

I had one many years ago on the outside of my wrist, it never hurt me or bothered me, I got as far as having an appointment to have it removed (which is only a minor surgury thing with a localised anesthetic) when it began to reduce in size, the Doctor decided to wait to see if it went on its own which it did and I never required surgury, I remember being told about hitting it with a book or something, but I wouldnt advise it. As someone else said two or three stitches, no problem smile.gif

I have an injury on my left wrist, and I seem to have some kind of a "bump" there. Maybe I have the same thing then? The only difference is that mine is pretty invisible as it's very small tongue.gif

I had one on my wrist, and mostly ignored it for months.

Then one day, I fell down the stairs and whacked it on the way down. When I got up, it had completely dissapeared!

I had one...
For a couple years I would punch it as hard as i could and it would go away. Then my scientific cure stopped working. I had surgery and its fine. As I remember it took around 4 weeks to be 80-90% and could play guitar again.

Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.
