How long can you hybrid pick at a constant tempo ? What are you practicing to get things going in that direction?

Hybrid picking is what I frequently use, but not all the time, just sparingly through licks. Never really practiced this technique properly (with metronome), so this is probably why I don't use it extensively smile.gif

Like Ivan, I've only ever just played with it.. it's not really part of my sound, just something I do when jamming away on my own smile.gif

But it's a great technique.. just look at what Juan Cortes can do ! biggrin.gif

I'm just getting into it now although years ago I used to play "Crystal Ball" by Styx which uses hybrid picking on 12 string.
Currently I'm working on Muris's "Pick and Fingers Riffing" and Stephane's "Lead Hybrid Picking". It' s an extremely versatile technique. Nowadays, I'm kind of rediculous about using the metronome so I use it for everything including these hybrid lessons as I'm bringing them up to tempo.
