Recording Vocals With The Pod X3/ Reaper

Jul 24 2008, 11:50 PM	Fire Up The Blades, Moderator Posts: 8.933 Joined: 6-March 07 From: St. Petersburg, Florida	Hey guys, Got myself an SM58 and When I go to record in Reaper, I dont get a signal at all when the mic is in the mic input. But if I plug it in the guitar in port, I get a signal, but its extremely weak. Jul 25 2008, 10:49 AM	Instructor Posts: 25.396 Joined: 20-November 07 From: Belgrade, Serbia	You can plug the mic into guitar port, but as thin input doesn't have microphone preamp, it will not amplify the signal enough to have a healthly signal for recording. You need a mic preamp for plugging in the microphone. Also what you can try is to amplify the preset for the guitar as much as you can and record it as loud and clean as possible, and then again turn it up in Reaper.
