Due to the fact that some members asked about a slower version I give you the slower 90bpm version of the backing as well. If somebody wants to record in a slower version, he may do so. smile.gif

Here's my take Ivan. Struggled with this one man.. smile.gif Sorry for the vid quality, not sure if the lighting had something to do with it. It was raining here today so not much natural light. I use my Toneport as audio source so I didn't include audio file. Anyway..here it is, what their is of it.. laugh.gif

EDIT: Better Render....Sorry for the large file. 20+ megs.. rolleyes.gif And it's still not to my liking.. sad.gif smile.gif

Great takes Toroso and OC, although it is not your style you handled the situation very well, which is a good characteristic of a well rounded musician. Well done guys! smile.gif

It was good.

I just noticed that my bends at 17 seconds in the video are slightly out but I really can't do them again I don't think without doing whole thing again. So I know they are wrong but hopefully you know what I was trying to do. It sounds weird but not so awful I don't think smile.gif

Don't worry OC, I will check out everything in detail and spare none ph34r.gif biggrin.gif

Really did'nt have time to write something so this is pure improv hope you like it tho guys, tried to reecord vid using the toneport as the input but then i couldnt get the backing to sync up with it so i just went thru the cam mic, hope that does'nt cause any probs mixing

Later on Alex

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Nov 17 2008, 12:13 PM

It's great Alex, thanks mate. Do you happen to have maybe the audio of the guitar track?

This was definitely in the wrong key.

Your licks were nice man, but I would advice you to redo it in the correct scale, as all the notes differs from the chords here.

No offense ment, of course smile.gif

Edit: And if you are unsure of what to do, here's a scale diagram of both Cmajor and Cminor pentatonic. The track seems to modulate, though I haven't done a go on it myself. Ivan didn't post the chord progression :|

(The upper pic is minor)

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Nov 18 2008, 01:33 PM

The backing does not modulate, it is completely in C major key. The progression is:

C F G C
C F G C
F C
F C
F C E D
G F C

so C major pentatonic, or C minor pentatonic (for the bluesy feel) will do fine smile.gif

Posted by: Toroso Nov 18 2008, 01:34 PM

Ugh! mad.gif What an embarrassing goof! That guitar was tuned down, and then out of tune from that!
I'm normally pretty good about tuning before I play. Don't know where my head was that day. I'll try to
re do it tonight Ivan. Thanks Kjutte.

Same problem in the oldschool rock take btw smile.gif

Glad to help good sir, best of luck!

Edit:
And btw, you don't have to retune. I don't know your current tuning, but say you've tuned a halfstep down, that means you will have C on the 9th fret instead, for example. Whole step would be 10, et cetera...

Was your guitar a bit out of tune, or different tuning mate?

Well it is smile.gif

But you can do another version if you like mate, no problem.

Posted by: DeepRoots Nov 24 2008, 12:39 AM

I should be done around thursday-friday too...lots of school work this week with deadlines and exams (also been having some audio problems too..which sucks dry.gif )

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Nov 24 2008, 05:31 PM

There's a slower version of the backing too guys, you can play at 90bpm for collab if you feel more comfortable this way, I will mix everything together nicely.

Posted by: kaznie_NL Nov 26 2008, 05:14 PM

I also think i'll get it done thursday or Friday. I think I'm gonna write down some licks now!

Posted by: Tolek Nov 26 2008, 08:46 PM

I think I´ll do my take on Saturday morning. OK?

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Nov 27 2008, 12:14 AM

I'm moving the deadline Saturday guys, since I'm on gigs on Friday and Saturday. This means you can post the takes on Friday and Saturday since I can't mix on those days anyway, I'll finish the collab on Sunday. Happy recording smile.gif

Posted by: DeepRoots Nov 27 2008, 12:19 AM

awesome news- ill definitely have something for you then smile.gif (already got it figured out, just need time to record)

Posted by: leedbreak Nov 27 2008, 03:09 AM

Here my take on this. Maybe a bit off topic but who cares. laugh.gif laugh.gif

This was a joy to play and record. I do have some audio issues, where I hear some crackle. Hope you don't hear it too, but I do not have the time to figure it out now so here goes. My daughter bumped the camera at the end trying to look through it. I told her the movement added an earthquake effect, so I left it in. smile.gif

Thanks Ivan!

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Nov 29 2008, 04:46 PM

That take was great Kaz good job mate smile.gif I will fix sync if needed in the final mix, don't worry smile.gif

Posted by: kaznie_NL Nov 29 2008, 06:35 PM

My dad said he heard an "out of tune" note. I didn't hear it, but if the guitar was a tiny bit out of tune, I'm sorry!

Posted by: audiopaal Nov 29 2008, 08:19 PM

Ok, so here's my take..

Again, I'm just trying to have fun and cheer people up.
So if you think I look like a hat-wearing moron, maybe I am laugh.gif

This was actually my first improvisation, so it was over pretty quick.
Turned out pretty good I think, but that's up to Ivan to decide smile.gif
