Wanted to share this with you guys and to see does anyone else have similar problem.
In last couple years I noticed that high E goes out of tune/intonation pretty fast,
maybe in 7-10 days of my playing while rest of them are ok.
This is mostly when I play a lot,maybe 4-7 per day.
And it happens whatever brand I use,DR,ErnieBall,D'Addario,GHS,doesn't matter.
Simple it starts getting lower intonation from around 7th fret and above.
Any thoughts,tips,hints?

Have similar problem as well. I think it's just the way high E string works and "lives"

My guess is simple- you acctualy wear down the string after 10 days and thats it. THe high E string is the most weakest of all strings and it willl wear down first. My advice is to check on your other guitar and see if the problem is there too. If it is, than I`m right. Try to use 2 B strings if you can I`ve noticed that it really adds to the high E sound when its a ticker string. Hope this helps.

Yeah,it happens on every guitar,guess I didn't play this much before,pure lie
I usually change set after 20-30 days,depends,
but Ivan,did you mean using B string instead of E?

Sure why not, but that is just a thought tough. I used 0.11 E instead of an 0.10 E string on a 10-48 set several times and it sure worked well. Happen to had few extra 0.11 new strings. And the sound is way better with those. But I don`t do it anymore because I don`t have any spare extra B strings. You could try it though for sake of determining if it is the tickness of the string is the problem. If the B on the E dont get weared down, than you solved your problem, if your problem persist then i dont know what can be the issue.

This happens to me too, but it usually happens to my G string, it doesn't stay in tune so well than the other strings

muris chek you r tremolo briedge and if it is still loosing the tune you have to adjust the briedge again .by the way if you can find the yamaha extra light 0.8 its better than what you use from strings but i am sure its not from the quality strings . also i am not with ivan to use B instead E string for elec. guitar maybe for semi electrical like SG sheraton its work but for elec.guitar doesnt work good . have a nice day muris

I have tried several times two 0.11 strings as B and E and this worked great for me. Sound is bigger and E string doesent wear down easily. Off course if the sound is not important than 0.08 should be the one, because they do not have great sound, but they are very light to bend and play.

Yeah,011 B could be working on rest of 009 I guess.
Hisham,it's not issue on bridge,it tunes perfect when I put new set and play some time,
but after more days of constant play high E goes down,only high E.
And the deal is I used to have similar problem with G,as Toni mentioned,
guess I'm using high E a lot more in couple last years

Well, in my opinion the greatest idea to keep allright the strings is to clean them with "fast fret" or another similar product and with a cloth... and now I'm usind a CGCFAD tunnig with 10-46 and works really good for me, high bends and great sound.

Hey Muris, just to say that I used 0.11 strings because my B was that of tickness. I propose that if you follow the advice, use only the tickness of your B string for E, that is to have two strings of the same thickness. (this kind of sets would be hard to find so it is not very practical advice, I must say, but it is worth a try maybe).

i dont know muris you r briedge guitar form behind where the springs cach the tremolo is the same as stratocaster .if its you will need to put a small little hard spring kontra comming between the wood and the metall of the briedge as what i did in my stratocaster and you will never
loose the tune .
i can attach you a picture for my startocaster from behind later to see if you need that . or not

It's not that kind of loosing tune Hisham

My bridge is fixed Floyd Rose,it can't move up anyhow
so it's just matter of string issue,its duration after all.

in my practice the most durable strings were GHS Boomers, they don't loose the tune so fast, and it's not easy to break them as well (having in mind that I hit strings really hard, and to a lot of bending

Just wanted to see if someone else is having similar problems
or it's just me

Try elixir strings, they are kind of hard and dark but those last very long. They seem to dela very well with the grease of the fingers

More update on this issue

Since I got about 15 sets of string from EB I was using it a lot.
With this string issue of course.
And last set I putted on guitar is old good DR Tite Fit.
It really works better,I'm on 7 days of use,
usually about 4-5 hours per day and it's still in tune.

Gonna buy few Elixirs to match them all!!!

String usually have short life, to me no more than a 5 or 6 hours of playing, calculating it after stretching and a couple of hours of playing just to lose the initial brightness...anyway I can't afford change string every 8 hours and pay someone to change them too! so I change string every 15 days two sets a month, sometime more if I have more gigs

Quick update,I've used Elixir Polyweb 009-042 for about 10 days,
no sign of losing tune on high E,
and greatest thing,strings are shining just like the first day.

It might have a bit moody sound since it's polyweb,
nothing radical tho,just missing a little bit of those ultra high top ends.
I have set of nanoweb too,will see the result...
