Thought I'd share this image with you guys smile.gif It's the first night in a long time since I got my amp out. This is a very important day for me, since it's my first gig with Days of Confusion in which I play the guitar biggrin.gif

Head: Crate Blue Voodoo 120 tube amp
Cab: Mesa Boogie 2x12
Pedalboard: SKB
Pedals: Korg tuner, MXR Phase 90, Suhr Shiba Drive and ISP Decimator up front in this exact order and a Hardwire Delay and a Reverb in the fx loop.

If you have pics of your live rigs onstage, this would be a great time and place to share them biggrin.gif

You get most your gain from the Amp or are you pushing it with the Suhr? How loud can you get the amp? I always thought the Blue Voodoo was a rad amp. (didn't Sammy Hagar have a signature 'Red Voodoo' series?)

And we were just talking about Blue Voodoo amps in this thread

I didn't realise you had one of those, what's it like ?

Are you thinking of going on guitar full time with D.O.C. as well as vox ?

That is a Blankenship 'Variplex'. Basically a clone of a '68 Super Lead, 50 watt.

Hey bro - I haven't boosted the tone on this one smile.gif We currently play in 3 guitars and we need to keep it pretty clean actually, so that the live sound will be crushing but defined in the same time. So, no booster smile.gif

Hey Ben - the amp is very nice! I haven't yet played it for more complex lead stuff, but for riffage, clean and themes, it's a great amp so far!

I will be performing as a guitar player and as a vocalist in DOC. We're currently having 3 voices, 3 guitars, bass and drums and also synths, ambients and additional vox on the backing tracks biggrin.gif It's gonna be a killer live show!

So what do you use the pedal for?

To boost the tone, of course, but for this situation, I didn't find it necessary. We performed only 4 songs out of our 12 song playlist, so most likely there will be a lot of situations in which I will need it. But since the time we were allotted in the competition was little, we had to stick to 4 songs.

I am very interested to hear your band as a 3 guitar unit. Hope you post some material with this new dynamic.

Oh Oh Oh, I see.

I thought you meant you didn't ever use it. You just meant for that particular gig.

Got it!

But you like it? Works well with the Crate? Do you switch between the different channels?

It works very well and yeah, I usually play on both channels - clean and lead.

I will take the head this Saturday onstage, but this time with the Pantera tribute - I will definitely use the booster! biggrin.gif

DO IT! ha! Those newer AC15CC you can find for a good deal. I think they sound better than the AC30CC. But easier to transport. (though I LOOOOVE me an AC30)

I will certainly do it at one point, as I had the AC15 for testing at home and my GOD! I have never experienced such a beautiful clean tone in my life! It was the white edition smile.gif

The handwired editions are pretty fantastic as well. I'll hunt one down for myself at some point.

Alright! First experience playing lead with my Crate BV - IT WAS A BLAST!

I had SO much fun and it responded so nicely smile.gif I boosted it with the Shiba Drive this time, as for Pantera tunes, it works out just great. Great dynamics and bite on the drive channel and a nice clean as well.

The only downside - when I switch channels there's a little bit of a lag - I should look into that and see if I can do something about it.

I played on my PRS Paul Allender tuned to C# standard and on a PRS C24 USA made for the Eb tuning. The C24 is a less aggressive guitar and I felt it pretty much, because of the comparison I was able to draw between it and the Paul Allender.

Can anybody bring in some suggestion about fixing that lag which appears when switching channels?
