Hello to everyone. I'm a new member who will share a little about myself. I joined this site like the rest of you to become a better player. You know, family and friends and even those at the music stores listen and think I'm a very good player. However, while that can sometimes be a boost to my ego, th truth is I have so much to learn. I've been playing for a bunch of years but felt like I was stagnating. Thus, I joined this "workshop" to open my mind and playing abilities. I love to record and have been doing so for about the last 15 years. I have about 7 Cd's of my own in which I recorded all my original music. I love most genres of music and feel there are so many great players. My biggest influences have been: Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Edge, to mention a few. I am currently exploring less known artists like: The North Mississippi All Stars, Jimmy Thackery ( hope I spelled that right). Anyway, my quest for learning, tone and love of the guitar and music will never die. I imagine myself sitting on a chair on the front porch at the ripe old age of 90 and ripping away at riffs from Purple Haze while some neighbor kids stop and ask each other " What's that crazy old guy doing"? And with a grizzled smile, I'll say, ROCK ON!!!
